What are being used for replacing tires on 430. Michelin PSC or PS2 seem to be hot on porsche's. I will do limited tracking with this car, more street use.
I have about 10000 miles on my PS2's including 2 track weekends. Tread is still very good and all set for Lime Rock next week. Had 15000 miles on PSC's on my 360 with 4 track weekends and were still great when I traded it for the 430. Went through 2 sets of P zeros in 17000 miles before I put the PSC's on the 360.
I am not a fan of the Michelin's on my Stradale but I am sure they will wear like iron. After the Pirelli Corsa's and the Continental Contisport II's I was very disappointed in the turn-in with the Michelins. It seemed to be a much slower response to steering input. They do ride very well though. I am going to try the Bridgestone RE050A's next.
From my experience, and from most owners I've talked to, I would go with the PZeros Rossos. I'm extremely happy with them, and will order them again. Gary
So far the Pirellis P Zero is not available in our size. But the new Audi R8 is running around on sizes that might work for us. These are not listed yet on the Tire Rack website but are coming. 235/35-19 and 305/30-19. This would be .3" larger in the front and .6" smaller in the rear. Might work but I would rather have our exact size. The hunt for the perfect Stradale tire continues......
Let us all know how the Michelin Cups work. That will be very interesting. I am sure you mean 305 on the back. Could be a great tire. Which car are you trying them on the F430 or Stradale?
Sure they are. The Stradale uses the same sizes as the 430, and the PZeros are an OE tire on the 430. 225/35x19 and 285/35x19 IIRC. Gary
Hi Gary, You are probably refering to the "P Zero Rosso" not the new "Extreme Performance" tire "P Zero" (could Pirelli make that any more confusing) that is on the 599 and now the Audi R8. But if they become available in those sizes I will be very happy.
Yes, didn't I say that? Is the new Pirelli the PZero Hero? I love everything but the name. The PZero Rosso is actually quite a capable tire, very sticky but halfway decent wear. Gary
