    I'd like to plan a summer BBQ in early June at some public park in either southern Palm Beach or Broward county. I will bring the brisket, everyone else can bring a side dish??? Any suggestions for a location (preferably not too crowded and with some shade trees). If anyone has something scheduled please post when you would be available for this. I am thinking either Saturday June 5th or June 12th. nothing fancy, just a bunch of car people hanging out, etc...
    I would be glad to host it at my house, and the pool will be plenty warm by then, but it is a far ride for most people.

    Wherever it is, count me in!! And, whatever you need to support this, you can count on me to help with that too!!

    As for location, I don't know too much about the parks in Palm Beach, but there are some good locations for a park BBQ in Broward, such as Markham park, CB Smith park, etc....

    Definitely in! Trade Winds Park, Sample Rd. and the Turnpike is very nice. You can have your own section. Used to have company picnics there, when I used to work for one!

    I'm in, as long as it's not on the weekend of the 11th (niece's graduation in N.C.)
    I always thought a get together at Spanish River Park in Boca would be nice.
    It's safe (because of the $20 fee per vehicle?),
    It has a walking path to the beach,
    It has boat dockage and walking paths on the intracoastal side and...
    There's plenty of great parking next to private covered pavilions.

    Spanish River Park is very nice. Haven't been there in years. With the entrance fee, the covered parking for the cars should be up by now!

    I like the idea of the Spanish River place. Sounds fun, the entry fee would keep it from being too crowded, although by June there usually aren't too many crowds around. I think we can tentatively plan on June 5th for the date, and see how many people say "In". Please put down how many people you plan on bringing so we can get a good estimate of a head count. I called the reservation number for Spanish River, and they said the pavillion rental is $50 for a city resident (John ;) ) and the parking fee is $18 per car. The county parks in Broward are generally $1.50 per person admission and the pavillion rental is about $72 for the medium sized ones. I'm not familiar with these places, but I think being by the beach would be a plus. We could also go for a drive up or down A1A afterwards. For those unfamiliar, you should know that when we put together a snack / car meet you normally don't need to eat for about 2 days afterwards.

    Chance I will be in Florida that weekend, so 2 for me. Although would prefer June 12, that is a for sure.

    Will bring the bean dip and the salsa.

    Any location is good, wouldn't mind something along the Intracoastal. I believe Gumbo Limbo has picnic areas.

    Huh? I've never seen or heard of such a car. Is it a 6 or 8 cylinder? I'm personally opposed to Pontiac Azteks, and most AMC products.

    Just booked my return flight to Florida, looks like I don't get back until June 7th. The fare to come back before that was like 50% higher.

    Is a rather big nature center/park around here.

    Plenty of shade and lots of cool nature trails/Nature building to go in and check out some cool critters.

    I'll reserve the Pavilion. I'll also leave a Waverunner at the dock...if anyone wants to take it for a spin. At that portion of the Intracoastal it is NOT a no wake zone.!!!

    Sounds good John! I think I will get my middle daughter to bring the Tacoma with all the bulky stuff (meat, large cooler full of ice, charcoal, etc...). This way whatever anyone brings to drink will have a nice way to keep it cold without everyone having to bring large coolers.

    Motorcycles are fine. I would say we get there around 10-ish to beat the heat, and eat around noon or so.

    I am pretty sure at least two of my kids will be attending, maybe more. I think it would be a fun day for the kids and wives / girlfriends. The tunnel to the beach is convenient and will keep those not intereested from being locked into car stuff for the day.

    BT.... I'm gonna try to make it as well.... GF in town, and might be last weekend before shipping car off to California.... I get home from sea on the 3rd, and heading to the left coast @ the 10th....
