Here are a few I spotted on my way to/from Michigan last week. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, I said on my way TO/FROM Michigan...I had to pass through WI to get there. On the way back from MI I stopped at the Challenge race as well. Some pics are from MI, some from WI, and some from IL.
Sweet!!! That's awesome David! Is that the one that was in Lamborghini Chicago's showroom? Congrats! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There were two F430's at the Rolling Meadows car show on Kirchoff last friday. Anyone know who they belong to?
They're the same two in the picture below along with the green and yellow lambo and black viper. We all rolled in together.
Green Miura on 41 near Half Day/22...sorry for no pic couldn't get the phone out fast enough in traffic! I'm starting to see more Lambo's on the North Shore than F-cars, though haven't caught a glimpse of certain Murcie
I don't many specifics about L's but I know the models, it was a Miura. Now, I can't be certain it was real because it was passing in the opposite direction, but if it was fake, it was very well done. I was visiting in Lake Forest for a week and had seen a few F's, L's and plenty of P's on the road, jumped over to see the Scuds and Cali at LFSC, but that Miura really got me going!
Looks very similar to a pic we took a few years ago. Did you get a private tour of the observatory? If not, I can provide a contact for you for your next trip. Also, did you take the 'Scenic Tour' off of 50 for your convoy to Fontana?
It is possible. A friend of mine has one too. They are rare, but not extinct. I have seen some myself, although not on the streets.
That's awesome. I have yet to see one. It's one of my all time favorites. Today, I saw a beautiful 275 GTB driving right by my house. I was stunned...
Was the 275 yellow? Here just for you a couple of Miuras: The yellow one was part of a special Peter Sauber exhibit at the Verkehrshaus Lucerne, Switzerland. The orange one is part of the permanent exhibit at the Technikmuseum in Sinsheim, Germany. Of that group, I'd be most happy with the Vector Check out the Topgear episode Clarkson did with a Miura. It might dampen your enthusiasm somewhat. They're much nicer to look at then to be driven fast... 275 was red, Illinois plates. Those are cool pictures! You have so many cool collections of pictures, if ONLY there was a place you could put them in an organized fashion for ALL to see. I've seen Clarkson's review. Now, you know how much I like Clarkson. That said, I didn't agree with him at all. He absolutely ripped the Countach, but it's still one of my all time favorite cars. I feel he bashes a lot of Lamborghinis. He's clearly a Ferrari guy, and called the 360 Challenge Stradale a scaled down version of God. No review could ever dampen my enthusiasm about the Miura. And plus, the hamster loves it.
Clarkson has a pro Ferrari bias, but his anti stand is more against Porsches than Lambos. The Miura has a lift problem at high speed. Octane reported about it as well. The Countach has some issues, particularly with rear view visibility. Darolls? That said, did you ever see the Enzo report Clarkson did with the stripper? Same problem, no rearview visibility.
How true! Even with rearview cameras, visibility is minimal. Usually, going in reverse requires that you have the driver's door open(on both the Countach and Diablo) and sit on the door sill, hanging out of the car to see where you're going. Also, with the Countach, if the A/C went out on a hot summers day you could get hyperthermia because the windows only open a few inches. The best car I ever bought was a Countach; the worst car I ever bought was a Countach!
That reminds me of the famous saying about boats and yachts: The happiest day in the life of a boat owner is the day he bought it. The second happiest the day he sold it.
My Dad said the same thing. He had a 57' Connie with full time crew member. Though the hired hand took care of everything, my Dad grew to hate that yacht. Unfortunately, my Dad died before it was sold.
If a young guy was driving it, it most likely would be Jan's son Mike. If an older guy with a female in the pass seat, most likely Jan and Inger.
