Any one intrested in participating? its $250 for the day. $150 in advance to reserve. Let me know we have 4-5 openings. About 15 people registed so far. Exotic Only. Respectful people, good drivers, no kids. Were running the Shenandoa Circuit http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/ for info.
Please don't take this the wrong way. But, I'm a little confused; "Exotic only" does this mean I can only run my Ferrari and not my Porsche? Can you define Exotic, is this event set up by a particular club? Thanks
if it was summit then i would have...but I dont think Im going to trailor the Pcar there again after just having been to main for 3 days (Im going on Nov 9-11)
Sorry took while to respond. exotic only was not intended as snob comment. Just more of a concern of liability with our cars. If were running mostly $80k-$200k cars at risk I want someone with similar liability and concern for property value entering the corner with me with equal responsibility. In reality if I knew some of you personally and knew of your track experience than a Yugo would be fine. But since we go out as a fill in group for a professional team (Team Promotion) thanks to personal relationship. We would like to keep it mature responsible and slightly competitive. We will run two groups a 12's or better and a slower. So people aren't constantly with their arms out for passing. So 911's fine. Boxters maybe if you have some experience. No first timers please. Unless your going on the track with $100k car at risk. That should be enough motivation to keep it safe & friendly the first time. Our group is 2- Lambos 1- 360 1- Scagnetti 2- Esprit's 1- Elise 8- 911's / 4 roll caged and highly modified 2- NSX's Thank you Please let me know if your interested You can meet me at my restaurant to drop off a deposit if anyone is concerned whether I'm legit. www.ViVaMartini.com
Now easier to sign up. PM your Name and car if you want to go and I will send you the link to our team site to register. Should be a great event. Most of us are driving down the night before (16th). The day after theres also a big Rennlist event that some of us will stay for on the 18th on way back home. Let me know if your intrested.
I think he meant Scaglietti, as in 612, which has me curious as a track car. Patricio, what course are you running? Because a 1:12 on the main course is a beast of a time unless you're in something REAL fast. I ran in the 16s testing a cup car last year (ex-pro, 1000s of miles around Summit, etc.) so getting in the twelves would take a heavily modded beast with a good shoe at the wheel. The Jefferson circuit may be another story, never ran it. Spang
Jefferson a decent time is sub 58...thats what I ran the last time... Summit...Professional driver and Lemans Winner Mike Levitis posted a 1.12 at summit main the last time...in his 600 hp completely gutted 993...if you are doing those times, you should concider professional racing yourself...haha...Even with the repave, Ill only be around 120 in my TT...which is bloody fast for a prepped street car as is...
I will likely be coming if my car is ready! anyone from PA have a trailer or want to rent one? we can split the costs and trailer our beasts down.. let me know.. I am good friends with patricio and have been to a few of the races.. it's all exotics and all fun!!! These drivers are good too..
Sechsgang, Spang308, wetpet & barcheta yes I was referring to the scaglietti 612 hope you got your forum-typo-nazi rocks off. Sorry you must have either misunderstood me or I may have not made my self clear on what i meant by 12's. I have never even been to summit point & my 2700lb 320hp highly modified NA / NSX is not running 1.12 in the near future. Nor do intend to waste enough of my life to gain the experience to do so without plans on doing so professionally. I was referring to estimated 1/4 mi acceleration Most of our group is unfamiliar with this particular track. We are creating two groups based on estimated acceleration, 12's or better and slower. Should help keep people from getting in each others way & the slower from driving beyond their cars abilities attempting to keep up . Let me know if any one else is interested. sorry if I'm just not catching onto ferrarichat sarcasm
No worries and nothing personal... sarcasm is our middle name here in the mid-atlantic region.... you'll get use to it.
Basing driving class on 1/4 mile times is a mistake! You need to do groups on track experience period!!! Any driver can easily hunt down a faster car on the track if that car is driven by a less competent driver. This can be a real pain in the ass to the better driver as soon as they hit the twisties and they have to throttle back and wait for junior to hit the straight away so he can "go fast". The track has a incredible amount of grip, just keep on the look out for those deer!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not see any deer 2 weeks ago in my sessions, however, they were out there and running around with one of the other groups on the track. Robert
1/4 mi thing is just just for first couple sessions. We know most of our groups individual abilities and we will put a 500hp car running with the slower group if he gets in the way. I usually have the biggest problem with this since I out handle most 500hp cars I have run with and get stuck behind them in the twisties. I cant pass them on the straights since I only run mid 12's in the 1/4. naturally aspirated. I should supercharge or turbo but I just cant get my self to give up the predictive control plus its around 10k not sure its worth it for the extra tuning & maintenance head ache. I only track 3-4 times a year anyway.
