Sunday 21 JUL 2013: 10th Annual Unobtainium Supply Ferrari BBQ

This is a head's up so you can mark your calendars!!!

Enjoy a drive thru twisty scenic back-roads in north-central MA to Groton. Then visit with fellow Ferrari owners & their spouses/significant others & enjoy some of the best BBQ & other food you've ever eaten. Unobtainium Supply will be exhibiting their newest reproduction Ferrari parts of course.

DATE & TIME:
Sunday, 21 JULY 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
It'll be OK to arrive early, but you may get put to work setting up or watching something cook ;^)

At least it didn't stay for 3 months the way the previous broken arrival did!

I'll start detailed event coordination in a week or so.
So far everything in post #1 of this thread looks good.

 

MENU Items still up for grabs, or you can be creative:
You do NOT have to bring anything but yourself, but historically people have insisted on contributing.

REMINDER: Only eMAIL RSVPs will be counted & receive directions & menu co-ordination, I won't be monitoring RSVPs to this Fchat thread.

- Coolers: I will provide 4 big coolers w/ice to cool down the drinks.
- Iced Tea, 1 gal. unsweet - tbd
- Large sodas - 1 each: coke, diet coke & ginger ale in 2-liter bottles. - tbd
- beer - tbd
- Wine: Maybe 1 bottle each of a blush and/or Chardonnay - something the ladies will like.- tbd
SNACKS: (Need these here by 1:00)
- Chips, Salsa, Dip(s), Crudités, cheese chunks, other nibbles – tbd, tbd…
ENTREE: Serving will start at 1:30.
- Cornbread - Anyone have a great recipe? How about some Jalapino corn bread this time(I can supply a recipe)? - tbd
- Sandwich bread -Need a loaf each of white & whole wheat - tbd
- Potato Salad - About 3lbs. - tbd
- Cole Slaw - about 2 lbs – tbd
(BTW, Col. Sanders makes a very good cole slaw, but if you have a secret recipe & want to make it...)
- Feel free to volunteer something.

-Brisket - Of course, I will provide & smoke.
-Ribs: Ribman (Michael James): Cooking & carving the ribs (I'll supply the ribs).
-Pinto Beans - I will make up a big pot.
CONDIMENTS:
-BBQ Sauce - Verell will supply an assortment of bottles: 1 sweet, 1 tangy, & 1 spicey, If you have a favorite sauce, bring it & share.
- Thin Sliced 2 large sweet (eg: Videlia) onions for sandwiches - Verell
- Sliced Jalapeno peppers, dill pickles, other - Verell

DESSERTS:
- Paper plates, Utensils, & tablecloths - I have plenty, mostly Ferrari Red ;^)
CLEANUP/PICKUP VOLUNTEERS: (Need 3-4 people to stay on, figure about an hour).

The Unobtainium Supply BBQ is a private event, admission is at the sole discretion of Unobtainium Supply Co. & Verell Boaen. We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or eject, anyone for any reason, including but not limited to: one who is in possession of any weapons, illegal substances or, in our reasonable opinion, might risk the safety of any other visitor or his/her self, might affect the enjoyment of the event for other visitors, or the running of the event (for example if the visitor appears to be intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, or is acting aggressively or anti-socially).

 

Just text from my legal advisor, none of the above have ever been an issue. It's just to make sure it's clear that I have the right to act to ensure it never does. You'll find similar 'fine print' associated with similar events if you look closely enough. Often printed on the back of tickets.

Sunday I'll pull together a revised 'coordination list' & headcount.

If you're coming, I really would like to know by 5:00 PM on Monday (new meat order deadline from my butcher).
