I spoke to Peter Critchel (Kent FOC organiser) as he was organising the gathering at Brighton Marina Village, and he suggests we meet up at 9, because if the weather is good, Brighton is gonna be rammed, so we should endeavour to get there earlyish...

    Earlier is fine by me.

Stig, do you know what is actually planned for the FOC meet at Brighton Marina? I've heard nothing directly from Peter and he didn't mention it (to my knowledge) at the last pub meet.

There is a special parking area at the Marina which can be booked if you know who to speak to. It is outside the Casino. I have used this area at PHer meets, and I could see if it's available that weekend?

(It's short notice mind, so I won't make any promises!)

    Steve,

Peter sent out his monthly newsletter a few weeks back, and it was mentioned on that. Perhaps you didn't get it. Anyway, instead of a meeting at K1 (as was scheduled apparently, but god knows where this schedule comes from), "someoned" suggested meeting at Brighton Marina Village as we can get some reserved parking in the square. It just happened to be on the same day that I was organising this 08-08 driveout. Don't know if there is any specific reason for Brighton, but a blat down to the South coast seems like a fine idea....

I wonder if this is the parking the Peter Critchell has organised for us....

    Stig & Joe,

I've never received anything in the post either. The only Kent newsletter (1 page) I've ever seen is the one Peter bought to our first (or second?) evening meeting. Stig, you are obviously part of the inner circle!

A blat down the M23/A23 to Brighton sounds great though, as long as we can park somewhere when we get there.

    Steve,

I hear parking is easy in Outer Mongolia, which leads one to conclude that the availability of parking space increases proportionally to the distance travelled from civilisation.

Why waste a letter on those who have not learnt to read.

If you haven't got any newsletters, that is a pretty poor show, and one you should take up with Peter when you see him on Sunday 8th. He must have a list, but perhaps he does not buy enough stamps, and if you are not considered important enough to be near the top of the list......

But I'll PM Peter's number to you Joe.

As for parking at the marina, if the Village carpark gets too full, there is plenty of parking in the multistorey or in Asda.....

As another priviliged member who received a newsletter it said "We have been invited to display Ferrari's at the Marina " on Sunday 8th August. Therefore there must be pre arranged parking.
Will not be there as I have pre arranged parking in Somerset on that weekend.

You got the Kent area newsletter? The FOC really does need to get it's act together!

At least it will be a proper supermarket. Not one of those northern Costco places where all the cans and packets have white labels and are stacked 20 feet high on palletts, still in their boxes. Luxury.

I think my Dad does that London to Brighton run in his 1934 Morris Cowley 4. He reads the 'Oldie' and loves things like Steam Rollers and old Lawn mowers. Is this what all dudes in their 50s are into?
