Ok, there has been some 'confusion' in the minds of some 'other' F-Chat members as to where the best Sunday brunch is................SO, Mike P, Ron, and the other Brunch fanatics, the time has come............

Whoever wants 'in' to this fiasco, aka 'The 2007 F-Chat Brunch-Off'.....Here's my proposal....................We each put up $20 as the bet, then we each pick a favorite brunch spot and we all attend the brunches (one per month, or however it works, depending upon # of participants). At the end of the bruches, we vote on where we think the best bruch is/was, and the winner gets the money.........

Other locations/dates to follow..........but, the first bruch will tentatively be at The Breaker's Hotel (Palm Beach) (My pick for the best brunch) on Sunday, March 18th, at 11:30am (I will need a headcount quickly so I can try to reserve it.)

Who's 'in' for Brunch on 3/18, and who is 'in' for the long-haul bet???

Always up for a meal at the Breakers.

I might be up to that challenge. The Brunch at the Clubhouse at our club is pretty impressive.

If I remember correctly, the competition includes Carmen's at the Raddisson Beachside in Boca, and the Biltmore in Coral Gables.

My favorite brunch place used to be on Key Biscayne or Virginia Key. I think it was called Sundays. Nice waterfront setting and pretty good food. Regarding the Breakers reservation for 5, I might have to bail as I just got some signed agreements and might have to work.

Actually they have a number of 'primo' spots the valets reserve up front - I think about 16 cars worth (counting both sides of the island out front). If we determine when we're going we might be able to reserve them for us.

Ok, so far "The 2007 F-Chat Bruch-Off" contenders are:

    1) The Breakers - Palm Beach (Fred's pick)
    2) Scottie's Clubhouse - Boca (Scottie's pick)
    3) Carmen's - Boca (Ron's pick)
    4) Biltmore - Coral Gables (This one is up for grabs....anyone want it?)
    5) Blue Moon Fish Co. - Ft. Lauderdale (Griff's pick)
    6) Somewhere in south florida, location and name unknown (BT's pick)
    7) The Ritz - Key Biscayne (Mike P's pick)

And, possibly the tie-breaker if necessary, Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas.

    Anyone else????

Nice... Baleen used to be the best in Dade. I think Baleen is under new management, and the brunch has suffered.

Now the Ritz in Key Biscayne is the best.

No, no, no........you have it ALL WRONG!!! With the price of this brunch, you have to plan strategically..............filling up on bagels, pancakes and all the 'cheap' stuff is unprofessional brunching, and shows you're an amateur to the skilled brunch crowd........ you need to focus on the high-ticket items, such as the caviar, crab legs, jumbo shrimp, etc, etc, etc.......
