What a GREAT race in Bahrain! Wow, with the new rule changes, F1 is back, big time!

We'll be meeting for a leisurely Sunday brunch to watch the second GP of the season. Firefly’s in Marlborough, Massachusetts (just off of I-495, north of the Pike) will provide Bodacious BBQ, Pool & F1 on a BIG SCREEN. We have a private room reserved, complete with a 10' projection TV for watching the GP of Malaysia. It's a barbeque buffet... all the meat you can eat and the usual fixin's.

Lunch will start at 11:30 am. You can either meet us there, or we'll have a gathering in the parking lot of the Burlington Mall (near the Sears Auto Center) at 10:30 am for a casual group drive to Marlborough.

I think the club strategy for 2006 should be, "GO BIG OR GO HOME." So let’s kick off the 2006 season right with "The Cruise In of Cruise Ins". Tifosi steel is a must (barring snow) and anything else that’s cool for that matter is always welcome (otherwise, I’d have to walk).

Members, please feel free to bring a guest that might be interested in joining the club. The Connecticut chapter has 26 more members than we do and I’m sick of playing second fiddle. Let’s see if we can increase club membership by 30 members this year! Free club patches to anyone bringing in a new member, and of those, one lucky winner will get a club polo shirt from yours truly.

Please email your RSVPs to me at [email protected] or call my assistant Karin with your R.S.V.P. at 800-934-4899. For those who will be joining us on the drive, please FAX a copy of the release to (617) 946-4334, or bring to the Mall on Sunday.

    See you then!

What time should people arrive at FireFlys?

Race coverage is 12:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

I'm not a FCA member, but would like to attend, Also, my son may be interested.

How much does a seat cost?

I'd be driving my 308 down Rt 119 to 495. Anyone want to meet up somewhere along the way?

$12 for the buffet, plus drinks, tax and tip.

Everyone, I hope you have fun tomorrow. I'm laid up with the worst ever cold I've ever had. Sinus infection now. Wish I was dead. And kicking myself for missing tomorrow. Bruce will be at the Burlington Mall running the show. Have fun!

    vty,

If you didn't go, you missed a great event. Started with a bit of excitement tho. I got there at 11:30 & there was only one other Ferrari in the lot. Then a new 530 pulled in. We chatted for about 5 minuites wondering where the crowd driving down from Burlington was.

Finally we heard some engines singing in the distance. Looked down Rt 30 & here comes a black Elise with a MA trooper on it's tail, blue lights everywhere. Right behind the trooper was the caravan. Next thing I knew, the parking lot was full, & apparently the blue & grey was just escorting the caravan!

Wow, I've got to find out how they arranged that, & get a blue & grey to clear the way for the next Fchat drive!
    ;)

If you like BBQ, then you've got to try this place. It was nice & tender, good flavor, & all you could eat! All the fixings you could want as well. Haven't had black-eyed pea salad in 30 or 40 years, but had it again today!.. Half a dozen BBQ sauce styles so you can find one to suit your palate.

The TV was a 10' screen projection system. Sad to say, it was either very tired, or in need of adjustment. Colors were off, & focus was lacking. But, you could still see the race. Had a stepped seating arrangement, going back from the screen, each row of tables raised just enough so you could see over the people in the rows in front of it.

I'd vote for going there again if the manager promised to get the TV into shape. Maybe would go anyway, for the food & great company.

    Spenser -

I really like how you are able to bring out the red color of the 360....especially in front of the earth tones. Are you using a special filter? I'm just getting my sea legs with my Nikon D50 and with just a polarizing filter I can't get results like that...

I'd've pm'd you but your box is full......

    Thanks,
    Kevin

FWIW the 360 Red in question is known locally as "Rosso-Scuderia-stradale-sale" (road-salt) :)

I'm impressed that the photos don't show how dirty it was (is)!
