Was nice to meet all of you guys this morning it was a great drive. I didn't get a chance to chat with all of you so look forward to it next time. Thanks Sega for helping to organise it. Here are some pics none are great as I was planning on taking some shots before we left but since the police sent us all running for our keys I never got the chance. I believe someone got a shot of the cars at the Four Seasons if you could post that one as well!

It was nice to meet with you and dc348 today. It was kind of quiet this morning because the majority of the HK racer group went to zhu hai trackday. Lets do it again on next Sunday. I will pm you next Saturday. I think dc348 took some pictures?

Very pleased to see the G-Series was able to keep up!

I'll be in HK in a few weeks. Look forward to seeing some of you out on the streets.

Nice, good to see that you guys are active & a good mix as well.

How does the license plates work in HK? Ours were S then E to EZ (1970-80s) & SBA to SFZ etc, alphabetical order but they skip on some when it coincides with buses & Taxis or eg. SEX :D

I'll take a crack at this (creds: lived in HK even though I'm based in SG now).

Reg numbers in HK typically consist of a 2 letter prefix followed by 1-4 numbers (no suffix). However, the very first series of numbers (i.e., 1-9999) were issued without prefix letters (e.g., I've heard that "1" belongs to the Police Commissioner).

"HK" and "XX" are like our "S" and "Ex" prefixes... old and rare, after that came "AA", "AB", "AC"... "BA", "BB"... etc.

Currently, I think the prefix combo is "Nx"... not sure.

Recently, vanity plates have been legalized in HK and have become very much in vogue... Some of these are just really bad choices. I saw a MB SL500 (R230) (if memory serves correct) with the plate "HANDSOME". Best bit... A young lady was driving it...

Have vanity plates ever been discussed as a possibility in Singapore?

Yes, I've seen that car quite a few times too, with a guy driving. No, he wasn't particularly "HANDSOME" either, but then again, neither am I. He is rich enough to have paid HK$130,000 for that plate though!

Since this is F-Chat, perhaps I should also mention that "FERRAR1" cost HK$700,000, as can be found here:

I'm personally considering getting "KNNBCCB", which the Singaporeans here might understand. I wonder if my application would go through?

Now that "KNNBCCB" is going to be quite controversial :D

We're getting our personalised plates here in winter I hear, but then it's not transferable. So, it follows you whatever cars you change. Could be better so people won't speculate too much on it.
