I ready to roll...993 is warming up and will be on my way once Greg gets here. Hope to see you guys soon...and for those who can't make it, have a good run out in LI. U, so long as you are in one piece no worries. I'm sure the CS will be fine...just have to clean her up a bit and take care of what ever is needed. These things happen to all of us at some point and we all learn from the experience. Speak to you in a little bit... E
Great run with the gang today! Another drama-free early AM sprint. WHART's 6.0 looked and sounded absolutely gorgeous as expected... I meant really gorgeous! I look fwd to seeing it alot more on our runs. Thanks to Bill for brunch, and E for letting me hop in. Bear Mtn was extra scenic today with a touch of snow on the ground. Heres a few pix.

Dunno about the rest of ya, but i had a great time. While i am sure the novelty of the car will wear off, i'm willing to bet that every outing will still be an event; the car is exciting to look at, more exciting to drive, and at once both an intense experience and an entirely undramatic conveyance for speed. I may have even figured out the remote interlock, which- this morning, allowed me to start the car, but prevented me from lowering the windows-(yeah, i know it was like 33 degrees, but i always drive with my window open). I wrote it off to typical problematico italiano mechanio/electrico-pizza break on the assembly line- but, lo, behold, i pressed the little remote button and voila, ze windows, ze do ze up/down. I hand washed the thing when i got home to get the road grime/salt stuff off the panels and out of the wheel wells, and got even more pleasure running my hands over the shapes of the body. Best moment, apart from seeing all of you and driving- the guy who brought his little kid over to stand next to the Diablo, telling me "He goes crazy for Ferraris!" I pointed him to the next car, which was, in fact a Ferrari- and he said, "Look, Timmy, an Enzo!" Maybe Lamerosso isn't so far off the mark.... Anyway, thanks for the run, everybody!
As always...AWESOME time today guys....pchop, thanks for the ride...whart -- holycrap i'm in love with your car. Gallardo this, Murci that, the Diablo 6.0 in that color (Rosso Vik?) is IT-T-T. We even had an almost-enounter with our friends Meathead & Co. on the Palisades ... but luckily we zipped by before he had his "trapping" gear setup, so all he could do was follow us for a bit, give us dirty looks (as we drove 55 in the right lane...all lined up...), and speed ahead in the hopes of setting up to catch us down the road. Luckily we outsmartted him (or vice versa?) and got off the Palisades and took an alternate route. All in all, great time, and further proof that the EC is the best... nlh
Thanks for letting me tag along. Had a great time and was happy to meet everyone. See you again soon, Anthony
Great meeting u today too A. Eric and I loved your RS4... actually the first RS Avant Ive seen. Join us anytime!
you mean this? (only video i took all day) http://beyondthequarter.com/woah.wmv (right click "save as") Thanks for the Seat today bill, gorgeous car! and best of luck with it.
Rob...now that video is some funny sh*t. ;-) I just got home after a day full of arse kissing with my family to get out of the dog house that I built by going to Vegas and coming home just to disappear with you guys on a Sunday morning! I seem to finally be outta trouble though so all is well (next time I have to remember to bring more gifts to bribe them). ;-) I gotta say, no matter what we do or where we go it is always a pleasure and blast hangin' out with you guys. Greg, as you know you can always be my wing man sitting shotgun. Bill, your 6.0 is off the HOOK and thanks again for your generousity with brunch...best omlette I've ever had. ;-) As for your new baby, all I can say is that thing is dangerous....for ME that is. I found myself so busy looking in my mirrors at the various angles of your car that I wasn't paying enough attention to what was in front of me! Beautiful machine Bill...and this coming from a guy who typically isn't a "red" car fan. Great seeing/hangin' with you all this morning and I look forward to doing it again soon. Let's hope the weather continues to be on our side. E PS - BTW Greg, it's an S4 Avant not an RS4 Avant. If it was an RS4 he would have left us all in the dust!! Unfortunately Audi never imported the RS4 to the states. The RS6 was the first RS variant to be imported (legally) to the USA. It sure was a sweet S4 Avant though...
Rob - funny vid. luv it. fwerf! Bill - beautiful, beautiful car. Really love the color on that - and I probably couldn't imagine myself loving that color on a car until seeing yours in it... just something about the body shape and the impeccable carbon fiber finishes here and there they did on your diablo... it all looks so right. You've got the perfect interior for that exterior, too. fwerdupzen! (as they say) Vik - thanks for the ride. felt good to be in an fcar again after a long 6 weeks or so... even if only as passenger. you keep that car in immaculate shape (as we discussed when you had it washed... again... ) FwERRFfFfFfFFFF ZzEnNNNNNN!
Well dayum! My bad... I usually dont slip like that. Guess Im not much better than the excited kid and his Dad. At least I can tell the dif between a 355 and an Enzo.
Just got back from a VERY fun-filled day. Completely exhausted, but wanted to shout out to my crew, and say it was a lot of fun hangin' with everybody. We had completely the right number of cars, but more importantly the PERFECT set of people. Bill, first, thank you for your tremendous hospitality. Second, the car's a stunner (like I haven't said that enough), and I think I speak for everybody when I say we look forward to running with you throughout winter. Geoff, great driving with you. Some scintillating conversation, to say the least. Look forward to running with you again. Rob, thanks for that video - don't have an Enzo yet, but I realize I can now humor myself (and others) in believing that I do. Anthony - great hooking up with you (and quite a surprise I might add)! Look forward to some more runs down the road. To everybody else, great seeing you!! Peace out to my EC Brothers!!
