This is the final info for The Tail of the Little Red Dragon Rally to Red Bluff MS. We should have a nice mix of cars and drivers.

When: Sunday, Sept. 9th at 7am
    Meeting place: IHOP in Covington
Where to: Tail of the Little Red Dragon
Bring: Your own car, cash, camera, etc.

Meeting place: Be at IHOP restaurant in Covington, LA, at 325 N Highway 190 (North of I-12 on the west side of 190) (985) 893-4885. Waypoints: N 30 26.119 W090 05.099
Leaving: IHOP at 8:00am putting us at Red Bluff about 9:30am.
Directions from Covington: Take 21 North to 35 bringing you almost straight to Hwy 587 (Red Bluff). Take a right on US-98. When 35 ends, make a left behind the gas station on the left side of US-98 onto 587 (west of Columbia, MS) We will run Red Bluff Road a few times beginning at the overlook past Morgantown about 10:00 am.
Lunch: Meet in Monticello at Pizza Inn about 11:30 am (before the church crowd)
Afternoon stop: About 3 pm at Boyd's Museum & Ice Cream Parlor at 30245 Railroad St., Angie LA (1-985-986-8411) It is full of NASCAR race memorabilia from the owner's racing days.

Red Bluff is an EXTREMLY CHALLENGING ROAD! This is a rally and not a race. OBEY ALL LAWS! Stay in your LANE; don’t cross the line, try to pass, or push a slower driver in front of you. There are over 60 turns, hard drops and hills, most are blind. There is no shoulder and few places to pull off. If you can’t drive safely, STAY HOME! If you decide to participate, you and your passengers do so at your own risk and accept all liability for your actions and the actions of others both involved and not involved. Do not attempt it if you are unfamiliar with its hazards. Make sure your car is road ready. Don't forget your AAA card.

Need an underpowered support vehicle that can't tow more than an empty keg? If so, I got just the Jeep for you! :D

I hope to catch you guys at IHOP. Best wishes on a fun and damage free (car and license!) trip.

    One request, PICTURES!!!

I’m glad you are going to make it. Are you an LSU Grad or were you in an LSU frat? I am and was also a Delt, got out in 1990.

I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone likes the Red Bluff Road (587). I think a guy I know; KoKo is going to follow me up in his Lambo and his friend might bring his Lotus. It will be interesting to see what types of cars show up ;-)

I am going to have a way for each person to get tickets for chances to win a prize. If they make all four stops at the four spots in the flyer they will have four chances to win something when we stop at Boyd’s on the way back.

Weather for Sunday is looking good: SUNDAY - Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 90s. Southeast winds around 5 mph & chance of rain is slim to none.

Tires should be sticking to that hot asphalt but going up in psi. I had some really high psi after my first run so everyone should bring their air gage and check their tire pressures before and after their first run on hwy 587.

I think we should be there about 9:30-10:00. You could meet us at that gas station on US-98 at the south end of 587. You all have an email with my Cell#.

Thanks for taking the time to come out and bring your car. It seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves. I think I counted fifteen cars so it shows promise for next year.

    Mitchell,

Thanks for organizing this event. It was very nice to meet some other Ferrari enthusiast and enjoy a great ride thru the country side. Highway 587 was definitely a blast to drive and I am sure I will go back. I only wish that we had more get togethers in this area. In the past I was heavily involved with one of the local Corvette clubs and we had functions almost monthly. I joined FCA several months ago and I was surprised that the local chapter only has one function a year, The French Quarter Classic.

    Thanks again,
    Kent

If there is enough interest we could do a spring rally. I love Ferraris and I am in the market for one but I would have to classify myself as a European car fan in general. It might be fun to have a few GTGs each year with the point of targeting any and all Euro sport car owners. If all of you had a good time, talk it up and I will plan one in the spring.

My wife and I are also very disappointed in the lack of Euro car events in the gulf coast area. I am also of the belief that these rallies’s can be short day trips, fun and free. That is why we planed just such an event; let me know what you think.

This is a link to a post and a few pics I put up on the Audi RS4 board.

Looks like you guys had a great time. The local Ferrari group needs more events like this on a regular basis. I hope to finally have a car to join ya'll on the next trip!
