sunroof on GT4 warning

just a warning, I know there arent too many out there , my car a 1977 gt4 has an original sunroof, I really dont use it, because it was too hard to operate, and when it rained , I would get some watter in the car, specially when braking, one month ago, on a surprise speed bump, form the sunroof opening, rust dust fell on the back seat ( whaaaat ? ) , so I took the car to a well known shop, turns out all the drains were clogged , and it took them 2 days to unclog them, you should heave seen the gunk, rust, black playdoh like tings that came out of there. no wonder I had a tiny rust bubble on one of the front panels, so my recomendation is, if you have a sunroof ( lucky you ), be sure to have the drains cleaned and flushed.

Mine is clean now, they painted some very tiny rusty spots, cleaned everything, and oiled the whole system, not it works like new, and I love having it now .

If only now I could find the part that surrounds the sunroof actuating lever now?

 

Miked....thanks soooo very much, thanks to you I looked on ebay for an alfa romeo GTV sunroof, and found the handle ..instead of plastic, made from cnc aluminum.....thanks so much, I have been loking for this part for ever !!!!
