My wife and I are looking for a ff/lusso and disagree on whether the sunroof is necessary or not.

Can owners give their prospective on the pluses and minuses of cars with and without the sunroof?

    Thanks

I live in a very sunny area and decided it wasn't worth pursuing

I also don't often have rear passengers

This has been done to death but the TLDR version goes like this.

Sunroof only notable from the back seats.
Sunroof doesn’t heat up too badly in sunny climates.
    Sunroof allegedly essential for resale.

I’ve driven Lusso/FFs with and without the sunroof and didn’t notice the difference from the driver’s seat. And this is coming from someone who had a pano roof in his X3 and loved it. The FF/Lusso pano roof and SUV pano roofs cannot be compared.

I wouldn't want to be without a panoramic roof. It makes the interior so much brighter. I don't have excessive problems with a warm interior when the car is in the sun. I think it has added value, and I also think it's cooler to look at.

I just bought a 2019 Lusso V12 after closely watching the US market for months. At least in the current market, the cars without the pano seemed difficult to sell - they took a long time and went through several price reductions. I would say the same was true of cars without the LED steering wheels.

I have it and think it’s worth every penny. Makes the interior “open”….

I have a pano roof on my Lusso and just had tint installed. Nevertheless, if the car sits outside for a few hours with the Florida sunny it gets very hot. I haven’t done any long drives midday, but I suspect the sun ray’s would eventually affect me.

There seem to be some buyers who prefer all the options, and others who don’t.

I don’t like interior or exterior carbon fibre bits. They feel like plastic to me. I’d rather have leather or aluminium. But I keep being told that cars don’t without lots of carbon.

Same is true of the LED lights on the steering wheel. They’re pointless but ok in the daytime as I can see the Rev counter and hear the engine, but I find them actively dangerous for nighttime driving.
They’re dazzling and create a huge distraction from the road at night. If I can find a way to disable them I will.

For my next car (F12) I would try to buy a car without carbon and without LED steering wheel lights. Apparently this will make my perfectly optioned car very, very inexpensive.

I’m easy about pano roofs in FFs and Lussos but I would pay more for one with this option.

Others will disagree but this is my personal opinion

Pano roof means no headliner sagging. Doesn’t get any hotter in the car. Won’t see from front but won’t know it’s not either. But you will know the headliner is/will start to sag always in your mind.
Glass roofs in all 5 of our cars.
