    Maybe they should have called themselves Aguri F1 instead of "Super". Seriously, this guy Nick Fry really is a big Moron, and I cannot see why Honda got rid of Dave Richards and put this Boffin in place.

    Very interesting question.

    Yes and no:
    It is better because now the new and struggling teams normally hang in there for the entire season because they would loose parts of their deposit. Existing teams hang in there for the FOM TV money. No more Lola team, that is being announced with a lot of fanfare and then fails to show up at the first race.

    It is worse because potential startups have now a much higher hurdle to climb. Would Frank Williams and Patrick Head still succeed in today's F1? I doubt it.

    Fact is, that all the teams in F1 are much more professional than they ever were in history (for better or worse) and that the difference in performance between 1st and last never was smaller. Even a "ridiculous" car like a Spyker or Torro Rosso is an engineering marvel that blasts pretty much any other car away around a roadtrack.
