Shouldn't we be seeing/hearing something about these guys by now? Anyone know if they've gotten their 2002 Arrow chassis on the track yet?

I had heard they were not approved for 2006, and now it seems they are again? I have no idea what is going on.

I know they got the signoff from all the other teams to race, and that they were rumored to be using Arrows chassis from (I presume) a garage sale, but one would think they would be testing or revealing a car or driver names or something now.

Their website is less than informational: http://www.superaguri-f1.com/

they did buy that arrows chassis from paul stoddart. but, it's kinda puzzling since there's no news about the teams' tests, latest news, etc. right now, i don't even know who their drivers will be. we've just got about 2 months left before bahrain...

Sato is confirmed as lead driver. Another Japanese driver is in the second seat. Didn't recognize his name when I read the article in Autosport.

It's actually a group of procrastinators, they will probably start building their chassis Thursday night before Bahrain GP weekend, maybe call their qualify "testing" you know, they're all kids who went to college :D

They will be using the old Arrows chassis and base in England. Half way through the season they will introduce their own chassis. This ought to be good since, Aguri didn't do all that much in IRL. Well at least they have Honda backing for SATO.

In addition, it looks like they are set to sign with B.Eccelstone for 2008 and onwards. GPMA is looking pretty dead..

    Amazing, really.

How many other drivers in F1 have ever had a team created just so they could compete? Any? Sato is the polar opposite of a pay-to-drive guy :D

Actually I'm touched. Arrows sudden demise was sad. Good to seem some zombie Arrows in Bahrain. :)

I'm not sure on this, but I thought they abandoned the 107% rule. Does anybody know? If it is still in place Super Aguri would have a hard time qualifying.

That rule was dropped in 2003, thanks to Alex Yoong and the end of the 1 session qualifying process

I was wondering, why didnt they buy the old minardi chassis or for that case the old Jordan chassis, yeah those teams were bought, but does the rule still apply???

Each F1 team is required to design their own chassis. From my understanding, the Arrows chassis was the only one that was both recent enough to be somewhat useful and had the intellectual rights available. They can't run a Minardi or Jordan chassis because both organizations are still F1 competitors.

You're implying some serious engineering thoughts went into the Arrows originally?
