patriots 42 giants 20. eli manning won't be able to keep up with the pats defense...and the core offensive line in front of tom brady will continue to give him all the time in the world to make plays. in the end, i think 19-0 will be achieved.

I agree. What I'm trying to decide is, would Favre and Green Bay had been a good thing for the Pats vis-a-vis shifted media attention and so on? Not that Brady and the Pats are vulnerable to the spotlight, I'm just wondering which would have been a more relaxed situation.

That sounds about right to me. Unless someone drops ex-lax in Brady's Gatorade I don't see them losing. 19-0 will be the new standard in the NFL.

"Pats defense"? LOL. There's no such thing. If you want to call it something, call it the AARP defense. They're not that good on d. That's why sports analysts and commentators restrain on calling them the greatest team and just point out the "greatest offense." Junior Seau is looking for a Gary Payton ring and nothing more. The Giants held close to the Pats just a few weeks ago as Tom and Randy were looking for their records and 16-0 so don't give me bs that the Pats weren't trying and already locked up homefield. They wanted those records and it showed in their play.

I don't think anyone ever said that the Pats weren't trying against the Giants. Of course they were. That was just a great game played by both teams. And of course they were looking for the records. Why wouldn't they have been? They were trying for the records the entire second half against the Dolphins the week before when that game was already 28-0. Call their defense what you will, but those AARP guys held the Chargers to only 4 field goals yesterday and pretty much shut them down every time they got into the red zone.

Yeah, "those Chargers." The ones without LT, an injured Phillip Rivers, and the WR with the broken toe? The team with a HC that doesn't know how to call an offense and thought FGs would win a game? Riiiight...

    A little bitter are we?

Yes, THOSE Chargers that beat Indy and made it to the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP game. Sorry the Pats couldn't hand pick their competition. Besides, the Patriots pounded the Chargers in week 2 when all those guys were healthy. So, I fail to see your point. Who could they have played this week that would have made for a more impressive victory? The Colts? We beat them already. The Steelers? Beat them too. Jaguars? Beat them last week. I don't really care if we had to play the Dolphins 18 times this year. It is still damn impressive for them to be 18-0 and looking down the barrel of a 19-0 PERFECT SEASON. So keep whining and make all the excuses you want as to why the Pats are 18-0. It's going to be a long off season for you and everyone else around the country that wants to keep ripping the Pats and minimizing their accomplishments.

Week 2 of the Chargers with a brand new head coach who replaced a guy none of the players thought would be fired after going 14-2, uh huh. EVERYONE (except Pats fans I guess) know the Chargers have greatly improved since the first few weeks of the season when they were looking for direction. Steelers have been overrated since day 1. "Steel curtain" bs talk all the media heads have said only diminished the accomplishments of the great Steelers of the 70s. Hey CBS, just because they wear the same unis doesn't mean they're the steel curtains. Don't forget the Steelers and 'Boys had first year head coaches. ;)

lol @ saying you would be just as impressed if the Pats were 18-0 even if all the wins came against the Dolphins. Now I see how crazy you guys are. AFC East had only 12 total wins excluding the Patriots. Worst in the NFL by far...no wonder the AARP defense looked so good!

I can't believe that I actually rooted for a few of the Pats players last year and this year. Fanbase is lunatic...

I'm expecting the Bowl to be a lot closer and a better game than most are betting on.

    It'll be a good game.

I didn't say that I would be just as impressed - only that I would STILL be impressed. Anyone who is a fan of the NFL should be impressed by what this team has done so far - no matter who they had to play. You may not like it, but that doesn't make it less impressive.
No doubt the Chargers have improved during the 2nd half of the season. They just didn't improve enough. Nobody up here was expecting the Pats to blow them out the way they did in week 2.
I agree with your comments about the Steelers. And you can add the Cowboys and Romo to the overrated list.

Bellachick says he loves Tom, loves his players.

That's the secret. Love. Bill has been secretly in love with Tom and Company. That's why the Pats win even when Brady has a so-so game.

Love makes the world go 'round. All that hate toward Eli this season means that the Pats will prevail. Did you see the look on Coughlan's overly red face when his kicker missed that second field goal?

Moral: Make love not war (aka football) ;)

I think you are right. The Pats have not looked as good lately as they did running up the score on lesser teams during the middle of the season, and for the Giants to go into Dallas and Green Bay and win, there is no reason why they should not have a good chance at a win.

As an aside, the San Diego radio station I listen to on the internet every morning had a caller with a very interesting idea. Get two tickets for the Super Bowl, one at each endzone front row, and have the lady who filed the temporary restraining order sit at the Pats endzone, switching seats during halftime. That way, Moss can't get any closer than the 25 yard line without violationg the TRO.

    Wishful thinking.

Since the Cowboys are doing commercials now, I wonder if Kleenex has signed them on for their next commercial gig?

The Pats fans should all rub Oreo stuffing on their chins to mock Eli and Payton. That commercial was pretty funny but borderline obscene.

You know anything I say isn't truly meant. Just having a good time man.:)

Yall don't have anything to worry about. And you should truly be looking forward to next season man. So long as Romo keeps a solid workout schedule in the off season. As well as rolling tape every so often with his 'mates.

I think Romo will pass all over the Pats and.........wait......the Cowboys choked weeks ago and are out of it. I don't care then. I just wanted to see the Cowboys lose.

14.5?? They must be on crack over in Vegas. The Pats won by 3 when the Giants weren't nearly the team they are now. Take the G-Men.

LMAO! Get your head out of the gutter! :D

I was referring to game tapes. Seeing how he can correct and improve his game.

Although, if there is a tape of the Mexico trip.....I certainly want to see Jessica's titties floppin' around. Okay I just got off topic, lol.
