Super Car test

wet track conditions didnt make it a very fair test if you ask me. porsche has all wheel drive and the lotus has much less weight to lug around. they should do the same test on a dry track. the 430 still sounded the best, by far.

 

That was the absolute worst show ever. So poorly executed, no real information offered, and WTF happened to the Spyker?


I was very disappointed. But I liked the Lotus exposure

 

I agree they need to work on the show a little. The lotus is alot of car for $50k, its just too bad that most people dont fit in it. What happened to Ferrari Legende and Passione, turned to speed at 8:30 and there they are beating that Nascar sh** to death. I think they should get another chanel for that called hillbilly speed network.

how can a 4cyl car with a top speed under 150mph be considered a supercar? I didn't see the show, but it sounds retarded. Big surprise.

 

Because they forgot to mention that this is a Sector111 SUPERCHARGED Exige that is making around 230whp



And FYI, this 4cyl car with a top speed under 150 DEMOLISHED the Ferrari F430 and beat the 911 turbo in the downhill race.


I don't think it's a super car, but for that matter, I don't think an F430 or 911 Turbo are either

 

I think the folks behind that show could learn a lot from "Top Gear" and "Legends and Passion". While the time trials were neat, it really looked like some guys took a home camera and a stopwatch and made a video for "YouTube".

As I had mentioned in another thread I believe it's one of those pilot show's that SPEED is testing out and I agree "What the hell happened to the Spyker"??? If this is the format they plan to have for the american version of TopGear I say they save their money!

 

If an F430 is not a supercar then what is?

The F430 is an amazing car, but there are cars that are more extreme. I reserve the supercar title for those cars



Generally speaking, cars that are very light weight combined with almost exorbitant power outputs. Enzo, CGT, CCX, Zonda, etc.


FWIW, I'd prefer the F430 over those cars. I like balance.

 

good point! to me any ferrari is a supercar just because of the history and heritage.

 

LOOK.... I understand that it wasn't the most organized show, but come on!... Speedis 98% crap and there are no "auto" related channels out there. This was at least a show about three amazing cars having a great time in the twisties... That is EXACTLY what Speed Channel needs.. Where else are you going to see an F430 flying around mountain roads... SPEED CHANNEL.. KEEP THOSE SHOWS COMING!!!! and PLEASE God... No more Nascar... Please......

It "demolished" a 430 on a staged show. See you out on the nurburgring. i agree that the 430 and the 911 are not supercars either though. but the exige is a much bigger stretch.

 

I guess Speed has their own definition of Super Car and it doesn't match with most Fchatters.
