Last Supercar Rally to date was in 2k4. Had 50ish cars, IIRC, VERY interesting cars, including concept cars driving across France. Edonis, Zonda, F50, XJ220, Bentley Continental T PC, Peugeot Asphalte, Aston Martin Vantage V600 (the real one!) ... etc etc. Many fascinating cars.
The organizer said he wants the supercar rally to be an autoshow on the roads. Clearly different than the free-for-all of the Gumball and similar events.
2k6 Supercar Run, apparently will start june 3th from Villa d'Este, drive along the adriatic coast (San Remo) to Rome, back up to Florence and back to Villa d'Este for june 8th. 90 cars max. Entry fee is 5000pounds (no sterling logo on my keyboard)
I'll most likely be in the area, although with a rental (or pos car), and will do everything I can to follow them a day or 2. Don't really care for Rome, but the Dolomiti are still vivid enough of a memory (10 years later!) that I have to go back. :)

£5k, is that all? The Gumball costs around double or triple that.
The cars I saw from the videos are amazing, all supercars.

The 2k4 SCR had NO Edonis, NO XJ220, NO Aston Vantage 600.
Here is a SCR 2004 video:

I'd have to check on the exact year, but I had the magazine, and the cars I listed were definitely there.

Just realized I messed up, BTW. The Supercar Run and Supercar Rally are actually 2 different events.
But word is there will be a Supercar Run this year ...
