    A very interesting article nad I was having this very discussion with one of the UKs top classic car dealers a few weeks ago. He voiced exactly the same points with one notable exception and that was that he maintains classics like the 275 are actually down in value in the past 12-18 months as a result of his clients wanting supercars for exactly the reasons listed in the article together with the rather unattractive fact that a La Ferrari draws far more attention than a 275 GTB4.

    It is not unlike what has happened in the art market with Old Masters and Contemporary works.

    I just have a fear that many of these people buying the cars now see how valuable they're becoming, and in turn not really driving them for fear of hurting it's value because of added miles.

    That said, looking at the cars for sale many have been sitting for very long periods of time, not moving (quite a few for well over a year). These are F40, F50, Enzo, Carrera GT etc etc.

    I can't speak for anyone else, but I find that if a 288 GTO/F40/F50/Enzo is a good no-stories example and is priced correctly, it sells relatively quickly.
