Excellent eye, Kare! Badge clearly seen in pic in post#3 by Boudewijn. One of the 250's I was mixing up with the SA's. John Mozart was @ Historics, racing the GTO and Lister, so maybe??
It isn't 3747...covered HL, now original colors. Peter K does respectful restorations... So, which car is the mystery car?? Beautifully presented, CA denizen, one of perhaps 8-10 open HL SA's, in plain view in paddock @ Historics? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've found some old pictures in my archive regarding 4109SA. I've taken these pictures in 1985 during restoration of the car in Torino - Italy . I've given a little help ,at that time, to complete the work. As I know , the car left Torino to Japan , some years later because the owner ( Myakawa if I remember well ) sent it to his japanese colletion with other cars he purchased in the mean time. 4109 SA: The Italian license plates "TO 508667" are the original plates for this car and were issued 23 February 1963 for Mario Alessio of Torino, the first owner. 19 May 1971 the car was sold to Hideyuki Miyakawa in Japan. In 1985 it was acquired by Kenichi Iwata of Nagoya, Japan. Marcel Massini
As I well remember ,this gorgeous car was found near Torino abandoned but in quite good conditions at the end of 70'. While mechanicals didn't need important works , the body was restored by "Carrozzeria Forno" of Torino , a Lancia authorized specialist . I remeber that was repainted in his original colour, bumpers were refurbished and polished by local specialists and windshields seals were substitued with new original spares coming directly from Pininfarina factory . I personally followed the restoration step by step . Hideyuki Miyakawa lived in Torino because he was the official importer of Suzuki in Italy with headquarters just near Torino. Their sons , effectively italians , are now managers of important soccer players as Alessandro Del Piero of Juventus team. As I know he created a sort of motor museum in Japan (Nagoya perhaps) with other car enthusiasts with a lot of important italian cars. I remember a nice coupè Cisitalia sent in Japan in the same container of 4109SA. Ciao Andrea
Hi, apologies for bringing up an old thread but I have a few questions about 2631 SA and this might be the best place to ask. Are there any pictures of 2631SA wearing its original "Blu Lancia" paint, with its blue grey interior? When was it changed to its current colors? Are open headlight 400 SA's such as 2631 SA also called "Coupé Aerodinamico", or is the current description in the Gooding catalog wrong in that respect? Thanks!
Thank you Marcel. That looks like a fairly modern photo, and the interior looked in decent enough shape. Wonder why the owner who changed it did so...
