Hello, As many of you, I´m planning to change my TRX 390 to 16" superformance wheels as the cheapest option. The question is that, as you probably know, the camber must be changed as it is different for the TRX and the 16" wheels. (This is what is written on my owners manual). For all of you that have the 16" wheels, did you change the camber of your cars? If I´m not wrong, the way to do it is adding shims. Do you know where to buy those shims? Thanks
Superformance also has the shims. http://www.superformance.co.uk/308/suspension_308.html Wishbone Mounting 'U' Bolt Shim
I added the 16" wheels and yes, I did re-align the car. I also replaced all of the suspension rubber, and rebuilt the steering rack, so the alignment wasn't exclusively for the wheel size changing. The shims were not a problem to get. The usual Ferrari places had them. Caster shims you just move around so you won't need those, but camber shims get added and subtracted under the forks so you might want to pick up a few of those. Also if you aren't picky, the alignment shop will be able to use generic shims to get it all right.
OK, now I'm wondering.... Why must the camber be changed if you change wheels? The camber angle is determined by axis of the bearing spindle, and the choice of wheel doesn't affect that.
