Haven't seen anyone here mention this yet: http://www.superformance.co.uk/308perf.htm For the money, seems like a pretty good deal. Anyone purchased / installed one yet? Cheers - DM
Ricky, Do you know the new front rotor size. Reason i ask is when i did the Brembo system i had to rebalance the brake system by changing to different pads rear. Having too much front on the street is probably ok (better than too much rear), but you might find the fronts have too much grab. Just trying to help.
I have to meassure that, once I have the car (will throw in some pics), but the only thing I can tell you now is that there was still room for 1,5 cm diameter of disc (using a 16" rim).
Very interesting, not cheap, but attractive compared to the Brembo system: £750.00 GBP= 1,387.21 USD 1 GBP = 1.84961 USD 1 USD = 0.540655 GBP Glad to see they just slotted the rotors also. Now, if they'll just offer slotted rear rotors to go with them...
Am sure you know though others here might not. Girosidc makes aluminum center, floating/slotted rears. These are lighter than stock too Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes Dave, Today I did my first test drive (in the mountains, 30ºC) and I must admit that my first impression is very good! The difference with the old ones is remarkable, and taking into account that my tyres are brand new (and hard compound beside) and that the pads need a bit of rubbin´to get them working really well. I think that once I have put some mileage on the pads and the tyres they will perform as well any discs on any modern supercar, so yes, at this point of view, I am very pleased. Note: after a though ride in the mountains the rims had a lot of breaking pad dust on them. I do not know if that is because they are new, or that I will have to clean my rims now after every drive. I will get you the pictures, because they look absolutely fabulous, they are really big rotors and callipers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know, but I think Superformance.co.uk is very competetive on their pricing. (Have to admit I can't remember Girodisc's brake kit price off the cuff.)
i forget what only the fronts were, the rear rotors were very competitive as i recall. E-mail Martin or Eric at info@************ .
Thanks for the update - Sounds great! Any problems with fitment? The kit apparently comes with replacement stainless steel braided hoses, and I've heard of some of these which do not fit quite right and leak at the fittings - any such worries with yours? Pictures of your work would indeed be nice! Thanks and Cheers - DM
Very interesting, the kit looks just like the Girodisc set up I have on my 308. I wonder if those are Wilwood calipers just like the Girodisc set up.
Sorry Dave, I have been very busy! As promised. Interested to know if you like them visually? The performance is good! Now I have to take them off, because I am going to put in a new "quick 2,5 lock" steering rack in there, but that is another thread! BTW the set came in incomplete, but that were just little bits, nothing important. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Many thanks! How does the front / back balance feel to you? I assume that the rears in your case are still OEM, or have you also upgraded those as well? Cheers - DM
balance is good, even better than it was. At the back I still have the OEM, no need for changing that, maybe only for track purposes.
