Does anyone have any experience with the "uprated" springs that Superformance offers? Any wisdom with setting up stock "adjustable" O.E. spec Konis coming straight out of the box to work (optimally) with them?

Carobu will take your stock shocks and turn them into adjustable shocks, if that's what you're talking about.

The stock OE spec Konis are adjustable. That is, until you install the springs....I just want to adjust them right the first time, so that I don't have to break down the whole assembly and start over if I get it wrong.

They are stiffer than stock and sit a bit lower than stock.

I did something similar with the QV London uprated springs. Adjustment of the Koni shocks is pretty much trial and error, which means pulling them and removing the springs for each adjustment. Not fun.

If it's better performance you are after, go with the QA1s like everyone else. If you must keep it "stock" the stiffer springs are an option, but a pain. See my old thread on lowering spring perches.

I put the uprated springs on my 1981 GTSi a few years ago when I had all of the bushings replaced. They are stiffer and did lower the car about 1/2 inch or so. The ride is fine and at high speed the car settled nicely and was very stable. I was very pleased at how well it rode and handled.

I recently mounted the uprated springs and adjusted the shocks (after a rebuild with oil change).

    This is what I wrote:
"I changed the springs to "Uprated" springs from Superformance. Since these are stiffer I changed the adjustment from 1 turn (from 100% counterclocwise) to 1,5 turns. This can be done externally by removing the spring and bottom out bumber, compressing the shock and turning."

What are the Superformance springs "uprated" to? And why do you want to "uprate" from stock springs?

I have found that it is difficult to obtain technical information from Superformance about their products. I was interested in their new SPAX shocks but couldn't get much specs about them. So I kept it with the springs only and I'm very satisfied after first install/drive. So for now certainly no new SPAX shocks for me. The car is lowered by about 20mm Front and Rear (measured after a 30 minute first drive after installatie so might settle a bit more) and feels much firmer.

Height measured from underside centercap to fender (Swiss 308 GTS QV):
    Front: 393mm
    Rear: 400mm

    Superformance Spring rate is:
    Front 30808165 245 lbs/inch.
    Rear 30808180 235 lbs/inch.

Data point: I also have the Superformance uprated springs and tried setting the shocks at about 2/3 stiff on "newer" stock-replacement Konis. The rear feels a bit overdamped. I'll dial the back to 1/2 way when I take it apart some time.
I'm content with the front setting at ~2/3 stiff.

Remember that these shocks only adjust rebound.

Do you remember how many turns from zero? Iirc there are 2-1/2 turns from zero to full.
