There have been several threads about them.

That looks like the way to go, to me. I have replaced several shattered headers and the used ones are getting scarce, and the US wrapped style hides potential cracking.

I've paid from $200 to $750 for USED ones!

A fresh set of front and rear headers would be just the ticket!

I finish it off with an ANSA #FE2020 for non cat applications.....

Sorry- my fault. I was thinking about the mufflers- not the headers.

But, the headers look like a good deal anyway! My 308 is a Euro so the headers don't have insulation. Thanks for the info.

Here is a picture from the Superformance website, and a picture of one of my headers about to be reinstalled.

    Rock on!!!!!

Looks like nice work. Yep, there's HEADERS, then there's MUFFLERS, and I explain to people all the time that a $1,200.00 muffler is not so bad a value as it comes with the pipes, the tips, etc.........

I did notice that ANSA is aluminized steel, NOT stainless, on the muffler assembly....I've ordered some...will report back when I get them......

Just how hard is it to get those headers off. I've been thinking I should remove mine and get them ceramic coated.

The rest of my exhaust is some after market type but I don't know what kind. It's not stock I know that, but I can't see any marks or stamps on it to see who may have made it.

First operation I did was a shattered front header.

Right gas tank, loosen motor mounts, raise block and LOTs of half turns with small hand wrenches......

Back one, obviously, was a lot easier........

I'd buy a new set and hang 'em on the wall for when yours fail, but if you watch your fuel mix and don't have too many ignition failures, you may never need 'em!!!

Do a search on "Canadian Tire", I believe in this forum, and you'll find discussion of removal and the trick wrenches that make the job a lot easier.

Thats a lot of money to pay for a non-OEM exhaust for an entry level car. I would just have a local muffler shop make me up a system for a couple c-notes if you don't want to keep the car stock.

Although I'm a fan of most superformance products, I dont like the mufflers because they are a fake 4 outlet...it's a twin outlet with a split to give the 4 pipes. A genuine Ansa sports exhaust has all four pipes coming from the muffler, and sound better. I've had both in my shop in the last week....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't '84-'85 cars have a single Cat? I saw only one cat under my QV, with both headers merging into one Cat, then one input into the stock exhaust.

The pic for the '83 exhaust, above, has two inputs vs. one...wouldn't work in my car......
