I’ve been doing research into manifold options for the 575 and have come across supersprints product: https://www.supersprint.com/en-us/supersprint-performance-sport-exhaust-ferrari-575m-maranello.aspx

While the Fiammenghi 6-1 headers have become a popular and well documented upgrade, these 3-2-1 designed ones intrigue me as they are likely less high pitched of a tone which is preferable to me. I cannot find a sound clip of them anywhere however, so I was wondering if anyone on this forum has one or experienced hearing them in the car. Ideally I’d like just the headers and cats to connect to the stock system (maybe I’d consider changing x pipe) to keep noise down but increase power.

If anyone has experience with these and has media about them, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks

Clyde has one. Me, I prefer the 412 F1 sound of the Fiammenghi 6-1 headers, which I have, but the 3-1 SuperSprint headers do have more low-end power and Cosworth development has led to the catalysts being further back out of the engine compartment.

    Incidentally, the T1 and T2 75° 3.5- liter and 3.0-liter V12s actually had 3-1 exhaust headers.

Appreciate the input. Does one need to cut and weld into the stock systems with these setups or do they bolt on? I’d like to preserve the cars original parts.

Both bolt up to the stock center-pipes, over the axle pipes, and mufflers, but the 6-1s require Fiammenghi catalysts. Not sure about the SuperSprints aft of the headers. Someone here knows, and SuperSprint definitely knows.

Incidentally, both Fiammenghi and SuperSprint make much improved over the axle pipes, which are one of the biggest obstructions (heavily crimped) in the OEM system. Mine has the SuperSprint ones, but only because Fabio did not make one when the system was installed. I have OEM Superamerica HGTC mufflers, which will be exchanged for Fabio's HGTC-like mufflers in the near future. These are not like the 575M HGTC mufflers, but in a similar shell to the vanilla 575M muffler with HGTC guts and sound.

According to the website Supersprint insists that you buy an accompanying pair of catalysts which connect to the headers.

I’m very curious how loud your setup is - can you still cruise on the highway without any drone? Is it deafeningly loud on cold start or mild acceleration? My experience with headers in other cars is that if you leave the downstream alone they tend to stay fairly stock noise levels unless WOT.

I also realize that my chassis 50196 will have the less desirable center muffler x pipe thing. It seems like Fabio’s H pipe is an excellent solution to the power loss from that while also keeping drone down.

So far Supersprint headers + cats + double H + supersprint over axle + stock mufflers is what I’m looking at as a setup. The only thing that I might think about is adding an additional pair of resonators if the rasp on this setup is too much but hopefully it shouldn’t be a worry.

Should not be too loud as long as the valves stay closed. At cruise speed, the valves are closed since there is a requirement for both rpm and throttle setting.

Note there is a difference on all these systems, OEM or aftermarket, between hot and cold/warming exhaust. There is more resonance when cold/warming than hot, but the exhaust does not take long to warm. Fabio's H-pipe does subdue this cold resonance.

Affirmative, the early resonator/cork does cut down on hp and torque, and Fabio's H-pipe gains most of that back compared to OEM or aftermarket straight pipes, while taming resonance once hot.

My Superamerica HGTC mufflers are a good compromise between exhaust music and loudness, especially with bypass valves closed, and Fabio's mufflers will be an even better compromise. I have Fabio's valve selector on mine, so I can select how loud it is, either open or Motronic ECU controlled. Dave (FerrariRx) also has a manual bypass switch to replace the blank switch (US 575Ms) or the foglight switch (Eu 575Ms).

Note, Fabio and Capristo make a system for manually opening the valves. Fabio's uses the Motronic ECU for the normal and sport settings using a separate remote while the Capristo system selects opens and close bypass valves only. I have Fabio's system, which was installed by my really excellent techs when I lived in Albuquerque. Steve Bisel at Forza Componenti also makes an excellent system and will provide the ability to install a manual switch in addition to the remote upon request. This one is very easy to install and does not require the expertise of Fabio's system installation. Depends on how good your techs are.

Dave at StickieRx also makes a manual bypass valve switch to replace the blank switch on US 575Ms, complete with instructions on how to wire it and versions for both Fabio and Steve Bisel/Capristo kits.

The guys that installed Fabio's mufflers on mine told me it was one of the easiest install and setups they had done. When the were open to the general public they dealt with every high end car/exhaust combination so I guess there are some horrors out there.
