As an NSX owner and addict, I'll be the first to say that there are a hundred ways to spend perfectly good money and destroy an unbelievable automobile.

As prices for NA1 cars have come down, aftermarket parts for the NSX have proliferated (relatively speaking). And one man's gold is another man's garbage.

I was a little surprised at NSXPO 2005 how some people felt that their modifications were "tastefully done" and I thought they had ruined the car.

There's at least one very expensive, and well regarded exhaust option for the NSX out there that makes the car drone and sound like crap. At least in my opinion.

All I can say is that I've seen at least two F cars in the last 6 months with Pep Boys/Flowmaster exausts on them (a 348 and a Mondial Cab.) and while it was clearly what the owners wanted from their cars, I thought it was ****.

 

Take a listen to both the Arc and TaiTec exhausts, these two are definitely far from that "fart can" sound you must have heard.

NSX is from Honda, thats why it sounds like one
The NSX is a really nice car, but one of its big flaw is it's sound IMO. I have heard many of them with differents exhausts/intakes and even though sometimes it is better, it still sounds nothing like an exotic car.

 

No offense but I couldn't disagree more and frankly neither could most of the rest of the automotive world.

Granted, the stock NSX is too quiet at idle but even stock every single review of the car points out the fact that at full throttle the car sounds like nothing else.

 

I guess to each his own, I dont like the sound personally, otherwise its a nice car.

 

Why would you be suprised it sounded like a fart cannon ricer? That's what it is.

 

there is a company here in vegas that builds very fast turbo nsx's... they dont sound like ricers. they actually have one of thier nsx's set up for road racing, and they ran it at the dragstrip. ran a 10...

 

I do not really get what you are trying to get accross? An ACURA is a Tuner car! How did it all of a sudden get into the level of Exotics? I have nothing against them I think it is a great car but to think it was going to drive buy and sound like a Ferrari or something well.......I dont know.
