    Went out today to enjoy the fine weather and low and behold when
    I was in 1st gear or neutral all of a sudden the motor surged right up to
    almost the red line.I quickly hit the accellarator and it kicked back down.It reminded me of the old days when the choke got stuck.Anyone got any ideas ?

    it's unlikely, but make sure the pedal isn't getting screwed up somehow on your floot mats.
