Today i tested the aircon on my 1979 GTB, outside temp about 20c 1500rpm and about 8c after a couple of minutes, impressive that it is still holding charge after 40 years, but R12 i believe were better stuff with bigger molekyl so maybe not so strange?, i have read on here that they don't cool so good but no info if they hold on and work good or do they need constant repairs? i will try to find some cans with R-12 for the future.

They don't do well in more "challenging" temperatures - say above 30C. I had my 328's AC running in bumper to bumper, stop/go traffic at 42C outside temps and it pretty much just lowered the interior temp from "impossibly uncomfortable, to "extremely uncomfortable."

OTOH, and very impressively, the 328's engine coolant system was totally unfazed by the temp/traffic.

in Sweden the max temp is about 30c, but that is not common, normal is about 25c
