I'll just throw this out for the group. In my TR6 club and forum we have a surrogate buyers list with people who are willing to look over cars for prospective buyers who can't get to the cars distance wise on their own. It is loosely structured and organized by regions with each volunteer stating what mileage limits they would be willing to travel to see a car. It is non binding of course and up to the individual parties if any remuneration should be considered. In the case of the TR6 organization the buyer has to join the club to use the service so it eliminates some riff raff at the outset. I recently did this for a guy in Texas who was buying a 512TR near me and I think it worked well for him and I enjoyed the experience and contacts I made at the facility he had work on the car. It could be set up in the sticky section and edited as need be. I would be willing to do it for cars in my general area.
I'm in for the Central Ohio and surrounding areas. As a matter of fact, I did this for a member in Georgia and he has since bought the car sight unseen and loves it. It was a 40k 355 FS here.
I shot photos and assisted a buyer looking at a "barn find 328 GTB" on one of my business trips. Always great to assist another f-chatter. Happy to do it again in AZ. Robb
The Stooges are available in Socal. I'm am sure I can speak for them all. Moreover Ernie is in IN now.
I can bounce between the Cleveland, Akron, Canton Ohio area as well as the SC area (Beaufort, Hilton Head etc)
Gladly help in WI / Upper MI. My TR8 group has a similar network. I did a full review + 100 pictures for a guy looking at a car here in WI last year.
The Porsche boys do this on the regular over on Rennlist. They call it a "Rennfax" ala carfax. We could call it a Ferrfax or maybe Chatfax. I'd do cars in the Northern And Central NJ area, NYC, Western LI, and Westchester County. Going through a bit of a rough time for the next few months but should be good after Jan.
