I'm going through my suspension now and deciding if I should powder coat or paint the A-Arms. Looking for some suggestions and feedback. I'm not sure if painting them will hold up in the long run.

    Powder coat x10000000000000!!!!!

I did mine and there is 0 difference visually for concours reasons however no matter how careful you are during installation, the arms take a beating and will look like new of powdercoated. Painted arms will get all scratched and will never last long. Make sure the powdercoaters mask off the bushing and swaybar mounting points or you will have fit issues.

Powder coating will scratch too. The key to powdercoating stuff like A-arms is the gloss factor. 90% gloss will show every little scratch. Have your powdercoater recomment a gloss factor based on the use the part gets. BTDT.

IMHO, doing your own small item powder-coating is one of the satisfying operations for the DIY guy.
Any compressor and a secondhand oven is all you need apart from a PC kit.
The kits have a suitable gun and range of colours. Once you get going you'll be looking for things to coat.

I'm finishing my suspension rebuild today.

I've got the front ones powdercoated and did the rear ones with POR15.

I like the powder coated ones better. They just look better, and the coating seems more durable than the POR15.

I'm not going to redp the POR 15, but if I had to do it again, I'd go for powder coating.
