Hi, Happy new year at all ! I'm replacing the 2 X 8 suspension bushes on my dino (rear and front). Is there a difference between the front suspension bush and the rear suspension bush ? When I have bought them, my seller (Autobank - Levallois Perret France) sent me the same bushes for the front and the rear suspension. But when I read the parts list, I note that the front suspension bush hasn't the same reference that the rear bush (N° 13 : ref 641271 for the front and N° 15 ref : 601157 for the rear). Superformance sell the bushes front and rear with a different reference too ! Many thanks in advance for your response. Gildas, From memory of replacing all 16, I think the front and rear are the same. Others can confirm. Superformance do different rubber stiffness bushes. Attached are a few photos that may be of help with the work. Kevin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good day, Although the bushing appear identical in appearance, presuming that they are of the same i.d and o.d., the primary difference is that (from the factory) the rubber inserts, within the bushings themselves, are of a different hardness; with the front being firmer than the rear. Most folks that I know...and myself personally, replace them all with the harder front bushings...or just replace them with polyurethane inserts. (This same information holds true for the 308 and 328 models.) Regards, David
Dear Kevin, dear David, I thank you for yours explanations. Kevin, thank you for the pics. David, according to me, I think that it is the rear bushing whose the rubber is hardest than front bushing. May be I mistake. I think that I'll mount the same bushings on front and rear wishbones Best regards Gildas
Likely you are correct, as this makes more sense...we would want the stiffer bushings in the rear. It has been many, many years since I installed the factory bushings, so my memory is likely failing me. When I rebushed my Dino, about 25 years ago, I do recall that we did use all of the same bushings, though... Take care, David
The suspension bushings are the same for front and rear, although the fronts do have an additional spacer ring that you can recover and reuse the old one. If the rubber bushes are yellow cadmium in color and stamped "Made in Italy" they are probably from Mr. Castelhano's production run and the cheapest retailer is Jacque of the Maserati Source: http://www.maseratisource.com
