That is a fault on the suspension. No codes and it can va related to a lot of things. I recommend you scan it with a sd2.

My guess it will be one of these.

    175220 VERTICAL ACCELERATION SENSOR

    175221 FRONT LATERAL ACCELERATION SENSOR

    176923 REAR VERTICAL ACCELERATION SENSOR

They seem to be a leading cause of suspension warnings.

As stated before hook it up to an SDII to confirm.

Quite a common problem, my 360,s used to come on sometimes after going out a driveway gutter. The next time you use it it will be off as they reset when the ignition is turned off. I am not sure whether the fault is recorded, it places the suspension in a safe mode.

+1 I had the same issue, had the car scanned and needed 176923 REAR VERTICAL ACCELERATION SENSOR

I replaced it and all was fine. I did notice when the light would come on the shocks seem to completely stop working correctly and it was like driving on springs only very bouncy and unstable.

    Good luck!

What SDII reader are you using to get this code? I had to pay a mechanic today $280 just for him to tell me it's an acceleration sensor, but not exactly which one... Would love to be able to read the code, order the part myself, and fix it myself..

Are all 3 of these easy to access? Thanks in advance!

The SD2 tool is usually found at Ferrari dealer service centres and frequently at Ferrari specialist independents. Some private owners have these, but they are very expensive to own and operate. The suspension ECU is wired into the OBD2 port, but I gather that it is not used for diagnostics on the Ferrari 360.

The rear vertical sensor in the engine bay is probably not too difficult (mounted on a side rail of the chassis RHS). The front vertical requires significant disassembly of the forward luggage compartment components. The side acceleration sensor is behind the front bumper and, according to the WSM, the front bumper and windshield washer fluid tank needs to be removed.

You should probably ask the mechanic to tell you which sensor and proceed from there?

You can use a Ferrari SD2 or a Leonardo tool to get the code. OBDII scanners will not work. The scan is as simple as plugging the scanner under the dash and reading which codes pop up. Takes 60 seconds. If they are billing you $300 for it, you're getting ripped off. My mechanic did it for free. :) Of note the scanner will not say "THE REAR SENSOR IS BAD, REPLACE IT" it will give some codes that may directly reference a voltage drop or output dysfunction.

Most commonly because of the heat its the one under the passenger side shield in the engine compartment because of the heat. May be the one under the front bumper to get at (drivers side of washer reservoir). The hardest one is the one on the passenger side beneath the windshield behind the on/off switch in the bonnet. I want to say when I replaced it on mine I took off the hood and then took off the cover beneath the windshield to get the best access. Wasn't too bad.

Once you know which is bad its easy from there. (You *could* buy all 3 used and install to get rid of but is easier to just get it scanned)

Thanks Qavion! This is what I was able to get from the mechanic (below).... based on the only post I've found referencing such a code, it seems to point to the Rear Vertical Acceleration sensor. So your information is very helpful.

"Scanned computer systems and suspension module, codes C1011,5011, C1014,5014
    Acceleration sensor malfunction, no signal
    Checked wiring, sensor needs replacement
After replacement, system needs to be reset and suspension ECU reinitialized"

I'll try to find the part online and also wait to see what he says, but it sounds like this should be DIY-able... the main question though is what needs to be done to reinitialize the ECU? Couldn't I just try disconnecting the battery before the install, then doing the normal 10-min warmup procedure after re-install?

Thanks... yeah, that's what I thought and thanks for confirming it. This last experience with him will be my last.

I shared the codes which he charged me for... They seem to point to the rear vertical acceleration sensor so will start and then try replacing the others if the problem persists!

Probably most of the $280 will be for labor (accessing the ECU buried under the dash, setting up the SD2 tool, etc). I can't imagine he would check the wiring for anything other than the rear sensor (unless he did some kind of resistance checks at the ECU plug).

As you say, the codes seem to point to the rear sensors (see this thread):
