I thought our suspension(550/575/465 or I guess other F-cars) is made by Bilstein, I called Bilstein Japan today regarding rebuilding them.... and the answer is

    No..

Apparently all parts related to Ferrari bilstein is strictly for Ferrari only and they cannot get parts for them to rebuild.

Does anyone know anyone that can rebuild them to different spec? I want them to be little softer I think. I think I can drive it harder if the dampning was little softer.

    Surely they are adjustable?

BTW: Early Ferraris used Konis ... when they stopped I have no idea.

From the site: "all 456, except load leveling"

????????, I thought all 456's had load leveling, except that the M's had only two positions.....are they talking European?...doubt that....

Load leveling and having two positions are two different things.
The first is to keep the car horizontally, the second is the setting for the firmness of the shock setting, i.e. Sport or Comfort.
These are two completely independent functions, and are both integrated in the rear shocks.

We're doing the load levelers now too. $545.00 each to rebuild to original specification. Revalving is an option and we do it specific to each owner; I interview you and find likes/dislikes, on-track vs. public road, etc. and valve accordingly.

    Thanks for your interest...

    Best,
    Rob

Rob, I had the rear suspension done two years ago, and it is still working fine, but I have heard that the design is not very robust and that I will probably need to do it again with the next major service.

Do your rebuilds last any longer? Or is this just part of the bittersweet Ferrari experience?

The load leveling system utilizes power steering fluid which makes sealing more challenging.

I have use a seal slightly different from the OE. I will warranty the rebuild as long as you own your car, exclusive of installation labor or incidental expenses. If they leak in two years, ship them back and I'll rebuild at no cost.

    Rob

Let me get this staight. You guarantee the rebuild for as long as I own the car? Does it matter if one does them singly instead of in pairs? Do you do core exchanges or do I need to take the car out of service and send you the original?

    Thanks.

Any authorised Bilstein service centre can rebuild the shocks. The parts used are all generic. Had it done three times already, at last count (mucking around with different valving)

Maybe, but Rob is offering a guarantee that the Bilstein guys don't.

Pairs or full sets only, don't want to cause instability due to differing damping characteristics.

I have 456 exchange units now. Core charge is $500 each. There may be a reduction in core refund if any EXTERNAL damage has occured to your original shock cores.

My company stands behind every rebuild. I will rebuild again as long as you own the car (exclusive of incidental or consequential costs) and return to you with free shipping.

    Best,
    Rob

Very nice. I have a shock that shows signs of previous leakage (from before I bought it). I'll keep an eye on it and know where to send it for a fix when (not if) it starts leaking again. Thanks.
