Let's see what Ferrari will come up with and hope it will surprise all of us positively by the originality and quality of design.

On his last interview Ferrari chief technical officer Michael Leiters didn't say much but confirmed the following details about the Purosangue:

    - The internal code name of the car is 175 and it will be 5 meters long and a four seaters.

    - There will be a huge differentiation of concept to existing SUVs. The challenge is to open a new segment for Ferrari

    - The new car will have Ferrari levels of performance and dynamic ability but also space, comfort and user friendly cabin required of an SUV

    - It will employ Ferrari scalable front-mi-engined architecture.

The Lusso I presume is 4,92 meters long. They mentioned the Purosangue will be the size of the Urus which is 5,11 meters long.

Ferrari code number for the Purosangue is 175. Curiously there was another "Ferrari" with the same number but instead of being a car it was a motorcycle.

When a red motorcycle with a Ferrari logo appeared at Milan's 1952 Motorcycle Show, most visitors assumed that Enzo Ferrari's Maranello-based company had branched out into two-wheelers. Some started to call the Cavallino Rampante base in Modena to order a Ferrari motorbike. But they were disappointed because the motorcycle in the show had been made by Milan's Meccanica italiana- Fratelli Ferrari whose owners Enzo dragged to a court a few years later forcing them to change their brand into the less misleading "Fratelli Ferrari".
In their short career the two brothers manufactured a few low-powered bikes. The one in the picture was the 175 and had the same code number of the Purosangue.

Ferrari often using random bodies to road test the new technology underneath. I have seen a few 458 and 488 mules for testing the F90 Stradale

A high demand for the Ferrari Purosangue is expected therefore the production numbers will have to be higher than the more sporty models current ones. Ferrari needs to boost annual sales in order to meet its profit-growth goals that maintain investors happy, without cutting its prices or squeezing its profit margins. In order to increase sales without compromising the exclusivity that gives it pricing power, it needs to enter new market segments. With the Purosangue Ferrari is convinced that it can offer a vehicle that its hardcore customers and enthusiasts will accept as a "thoroughbred" Ferrari, and that will also appeal worldwide to people who are willing and able to spend a lot of money on a high-performance luxury SUV.

I think Ferrari stated they want to get their sales to 12k by the time the current product cycle ends in 2022- this is based on their public statements. So one could think Purosangue could be responsible for 1-2k sales a year?

The chart below was extracted from a Ferrari annual report and it shows the yearly total number of car shipments per group. If we look at the year 2017 into group named GT (composed by the GTC4 and the California) the total number of cars shipped was 2555. Because 2017 was the year when the Portofino was introduced the GTC4 represented approximately 60% of this group shipments (1533 cars).
Jerry I believe your Purosangue sales interval 1-2 K is right. Based on the GTC4 shipments I believe the Purosangue has potential to sell more cars therefore my number is around 2K per year.

I think 2k is to low, you need add sales of lusso and new customers who never one Ferrari but want suv or fancy daily car so let's say 1,5k +1,5k = 3k :)
