128 posts and why the rudeness ?
Suzuka is commonly known as a great track among drivers.
    However;
    Spa is the King.

Suzuka is more technical, but Spa is more free flowing.

It's called "debate" or "spirited debate" nothing rude about it. After 5000 posts you should know this.

I agree with you about Suzuka, but I'm finding that Spa isn't the runaway winner , it's very close I would say.

The point isn't really Suzuka vs Spa, it's the impending demise of a racing series...

Two of the four quotes merely like it. Of course, Sam Michael isn't even a driver. It would be child's play to find dozens more that definitively say the Spa is the greatest in the history of the universe. Please, I can't be bothered. If you don't believe me you can look them up yourself.

Remember too that all these quotes are PR fluff promoting the race in question. I'm sure you could find a driver somewhere that would say Montreal is their favorite track in a press release. They will say it's fast and they can pass there. Doesn't mean much though, does it?

Why bother posting then ? Sorry to bother you, but I don't really care...

Well I couldn't resist sharing this one with you, Lewis hambone, who so many seem to worship around here was quoted after Friday practice :

    4 . L. Hamilton - McLaren Mercedes MP4-24

“This is the best track I’ve ever driven. It’s something very special for me and I had a great time today, even though it was wet. We didn’t do much running – we weren’t supposed to be running this afternoon, but I couldn’t help it: I just had to go out and have a little bit of fun. I’ve heard it’s going to be dry for the race, I’m just looking forward to getting out there in the dry and seeing how fast you can push around here.”

I know you said something like even though the driver says his fav track is Suzuka, he really doesn't mean it, or something confusing like that, but I'm pretty sure lewis said that Suzuka was the "best track I'VE EVER DRIVEN", Sounds like he means it I'd say...

LIKE I SAID, ITS NOT SUZUKA VS SPA, it's really something much more than that.

Agree, I can't be bothered doing your research for you because I also don't really care.

You are up to three now. In fact, I'm sure you could find several others.

Also agree that's it's not about Suzuka vs. Spa, but I don't really remember what it was about.

"This track is like a dream; especially the first sector. To drive that part of the track is just fabulous: the s-curves, the rhythm, just incredible."
--Michael Schumacher, driver of the No. 5 for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro

"It is now over ten years since I first drove a car around Suzuka. During my year racing in the Japanese F3000 championship I grew to learn the circuit very well and it is still my favorite track on the calendar. It has every type of corner and makes for an excellent driving challenge. There are many important sections on the track, notably the first sector up to and including the famous Esses."
--Ralf Schumacher, driver of the No. 7 for Panasonic Toyota Racing

"Suzuka is one of the greatest circuits on the Formula One calendar, one that demands the drivers and engineers get everything right to secure a quick lap time. The track has everything, high speed corners, a chicane and a hairpin. Intense focus is always required through the initial Esses section, if you get the first corner wrong, the penalty grows through the whole sector."
--Sam Michael, Technical Director for WilliamsF1

This is just 1 article from before the '06' race, I can find more, many drivers say Suzuka is their favorite, don't get up on your high horse ...

no high horse here, just info - you might consider cooling your rudeness here on FChat - might try a chill pill, it's amazing how anger/frustration/knowing everything etc. can be displayed via posts !!!

Carol, unless I missed something the discussion was more about the race than the track. These years cars make overtaking pretty much near impossible. Rewind back to even just 2006, where we had a brilliant race (Kimi overtake on fisi anyone? one of the best!). It's because of the stupid diffuser that prevents cars from overtaking yet again.

It's the FIAs fault for being unable to write the rules clearly hence this years cars are unable to overtake due to the superdiffuser. Does anyone believe that brawn would be where they are if they didn't have the superdiffuser?

For me, Suzuka and Spa are 2 of the most brilliant tracks ever. any race from 2006 and previous was a good one. There are a few good overtaking spots and turn 1 is a dream.
Same here Steve...If you still play racing games you should get Rfactor for PC. There are a lot of mods for it, including multiple F1 championships ('50, '87, '89, '91, '97(one of my favourite mods) 2005-2009). Not to mention Formula nippon, GP2, F3 etc etc Also a lot of tracks.

Don't let the game physics disappoint you. All mods have their own physics 'script' written, making it very realistic for pretty much all mods.

If you do still play racing games we should have an online race once i'm back in civilization!

perhaps we could organise an Fchat race series if there are enough people sad enough to do so:D. Every race weekend a race on the same track.

Excuse me for defending my comments, You might take a miniute and read your posts before calling me rude. "knowing everything " How on earth does that come into play ? Have a look at your post below, "sorry to disappoint you" "I don't know what race you were watching" you don't see the condescending rudeness in those comments ? that was what got me started defending myself, and I think I've done a decent job of it.

Well, as I said earlier, so did I, I guess we asked different drivers, why get snippy with the "sorry to disappoint you" unnecessary comment ????

I guess you didn't ask Lewis Hamilton, current world champion, who said Suzuka was the best track he's EVER driven on. I know he's young but that boy has been on a few tracks, hasn't he ? I'm obviously going with Lewis on this one, clearly there are many Drivers who will agree with him and me.

Once again, why this rudeness ??? Why don't you just say that you thought the race was exciting and tell us why ????

Telling me to take a chill pill ? I'm just defending my comments to you, you're the one that's poking and prodding with your words...

Well qualifying was certainly hairy enough!

The best thing I can say about the race was that Button was kept far away from 4th. The worst thing I can say is that he made points and finished ahead of Rubens.
