Thought I would share a few photos from last weekend's vintage grand prix at Watkins Glen. This is the first true vintage event that I have been to. I can't say the racing itself was all that interesting, but the variety of cars was fantastic. Hopefully I will make it back again next year.

nice! love the old Rusty Wallace MGD stock car.

did you get any pics of the modern-ish Indycars or F1 cars? I heard a Williams F1 car was running.

Those cars were supposed to run with group 9, but I never saw them on track. Saw them in the garage. I was only there for Saturday so I am not sure if they ran at a different time instead. The F1 cars that are on the entry list are 19997 Benetton, 1997 Jordan, and then also a 2007 Panoz DP01 and 1997 Reynard Champ Car.

The entry list was a bit confusing, there were cars on the list that I don't remember ever seeing on track, cars on track I don't remember from the entry list, and a few things running at different times from the schedule. There was also only 5 minutes between sessions so it was hard to get to different locations for different shots. Most sessions were only 20-30min long anyway so I had to pretty much just choose a spot and stay there.

Will be a slightly different situation for Petit Le Mans next month lol.

That is on my list for the future. We go to Hilton Head every year so this would be a good excuse. Unfortunately next month is Petit Le Mans and unless someone is going to start paying me to shoot photos, I have to pick and choose my events.

The F5000 car is truly frightening. Thanks for posting these photos.

Great pictures, would you have any of the Group 6 competitors either on track or pits?
