I just bought an 82 gtsi. It's a us spec car with a euro exhaust on it, and I need to get it smogged in California. So I'm looking for a US exhaust (oem or aftermarket) that I can put cats on.

I'm looking to do a straight swap if possible. If not, I'll buy any pieces anyone might have lying around- muffler, cats, stright pipes, pre-cat pipes. I'm not looking for something shiny and stainless, just something that will get this thing smogged.

Any one out there want to swap?

If anyone wants more/better pics, let me know what you want and I'll post them.

I'll be putting my new tubi system on with test pipes in a few weeks. When Im finished I'll have a complete US 2v system, muffler, piping with both cats to sell. Joe

Joe- I'm jealous of the Tubi. Do you mind me asking how much you paid?

Anyway, PM when you've installed the Tubi. If I haven't found a swap by then, I'll happily buy everything off of you.

I have ran into a similar problem. My car is an 81 308 euro model that was converted and approved by the BAR with the appropriate sticker. This was done in 1986 and now the CATS need to be replaced, however the 1/1/09 CARB Law does not allow me to replace the CATS with same like and kind. After several calls to the CARD I did get a clarification and I can replace the CATS with any PC 1 pre OBD 11. I have researched the available sources and find the the magnafo units # 36104 are cal certified and will fit into the allowable space, unfortunantly the are welded in place and it takes a real good welder to weld in such tight spaces. Will have the Cats in a few days and will post the results. cheers kdl
