keep in mind though, a 360's list is only 147k, plus destination and etc. so even if it takes a dive, its still holding the value. what can 130's buy you rightg now? a '00 coupe without much options, thats a 5 yrs old car losing like 12%. even if it hits 100k(which i HIGHLY doubt will happy within 3 yrs), it still has 2/3 of value over 8 yrs period, i dont think thats shabby compared to other exotices or sports cars.
the only 360 that dips into south of 100k within a year, will be a euro or with very very high mileage, we will see. :)

I agree with that Noto said -- with one BIG clarification:

"as soon as you start seeing 430s around" does not mean the next 3, 6, or even 9 months. That means when 430s are as common as 360s, which is 2+ years away.

Until then, I can pretty much assure you 360 prices will stick right around where they are --- 1/2 of what a 430 costs....(that is, if they don't INCREASE).

When 430 prices come down from the stratosphere -- (i.e. there are '07/'08 models out and 1st-year models are nearing the end of their warranty period), THEN you'll see 360 prices head well below $100k. But until then, why would someone dump a 360 for $80k and then spend 4x that for a car that even diehards will agree ain't 4x better....

    My $430.02....

because i really dont want to sell. once a while i feel like shifting and f355 is a good car to fix the urge.

we buy what we like, no matter what brand, if i like lambo i would be driving a 6.0(best lambo in my opinion) no matter which is a hotter car.

    although fact is:
    a 170k list gallado u can buy for 140's.
    a 5 yrs old 150k list 360 goes for 130's.
i think that's enuff said, to show what's "hot".

not knocking the gallado, its a heck of value for exotic car at the discounted price. why pay 120k for a porsche turbo when u can get a g-car for a bit more.

Finally something that I can agree with you on. However, those cars are two very diffrerent animals with typically different demographics. If it were me, it would be "G" all the way. In silver please with manually adjusted seats (my head hits the roof on the power equipped models)....

Oh and if someone is paying $120K for a 996 Turbo at this point, then they deserve to lose $50k+ in a matter of 2 years!

I assume you're talking about coupes, right? Cuz 996 Turbo Cabs are ALL between $115k - $125k these days.....unless I'm looking in the wrong places...

I did mean coupes (sorry about that), and the cabs will definitely hold more value than the coupes since they won't be producing a 997TT Cab for the foreseeable future. The coupe on the other hand is long in the tooth and you can pick up a 1 year old example in the high $80k to low $90k range if you look hard enough.

Unfortunately for the 996, long term values look to plummet as the 997 becomes more prevalent. That's just the nature of that series...

i saw a "loaded" 996tt s coupe at ny auto show sticker over $160. it did look nice with factory painted wheel body color and tons of carbon fiber trim but who would pay that kind of money for an out dated model???? sometimes i think p prices are worse than f

I thought the S was basically a GT2 with AWD and more luxury options. It was easier than saying, "996 Twin Turbo with the X50 Power Package"

It's an awesome car, but you get $0 on those clever options at trade-in.

    where?
i was actually looking to get one, wanting to spend low 80's, seems that barely can get '02 with under 10k miles. if a '04 can be had for ~90's i might well go with '04.
