the lights look odd - do they normally protrude like that ? (or is it an optical illusion due to the colour ?) they dont seem to on other examples ive seen. http://blog.kornemuz.com/images/200605/20061022b.jpg http://www.exoticcarsite.com/pictures/Cars/lamborghini/lm002/lamborghini_lm002-1.jpg funky car tho roy, you must be well pleased.
Yes, just more pronunced on this do to the chrome ring...America models had a lot of additional chrome added...
I think I may have seen this car on the back of a flatbed heading up 101 south of salinas about a month ago. Looks great.
I was wondering the same. But if Roy says the American models have more chrome, then does this mean the black LM002 LoD had was an European? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think it's a matter of American vs European LM002s - IIRC "America" is just the name, not market designation. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. Edit - oh yes, congrats on the purchase. Such a rare beast, have fun and please post more on what its like - I have never spoken to/heard from anyone who has experience with this car (even on an internet forum) .
Yep, that would be it, was enroute to the www.drivenexotics.com where Steve went through head to toe prior to me getting it...came out of South Cali.
Correct, American is just the name for the last 60 or so. They had FI instead of carbs, more chrome, different wheels, different hood in front, some other luxury items like alarm etc etc...OH also different gas tank location and fill service...all around was to be a better truck...produced 88 to 92 LM trucks... LM002 (301 Made 1986-93) The LM002 was pretty much the final version of the Cheetah program to ever be sold to the public. The LM003 and LM004 being experiments with various engines that were eventually abandoned. Only 301 of these LM002 monster machines were built. The last 60 of the series were called LM/American and was introduced at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show. The LM/American had special baging, stripes, upgraded interior, group effects, chrome front and rear bumpers and MSW / OZ Racing alloy wheels. Congrats Roy ! I believe I browsed that LM 002 over at Beverly Hills Sports Cars last fall...it was very clean inside.
Hmmm.. I meant post more of your reactions/thoughts/experience! Anyone can find that on lamborghiniregistry.com
Roy has drivenexotics worked on many LM002's? On a side note, I got my LM up to 160KPH the other day and it felt rock solid!! The white interior looks AWSOME!!!
now, my uncle who lives in miami is looking for a white one..... how much are you asking exactly? pm me if you want to.
I figured that. But the LM002 LoD was an '88, which lead me to believe it was a model made for the Europeans than Americans, esp. with the LM002's debut in '92 at the said auto show. Weren't the LM002 engines though, derived from, or similar to a Countach's?
