    Hey guys,

I have been approached with an opportunity of importing "High Mileage" (10 to 15 thousand miles on them) Ferrari's straight from Italy to the US. My question is as far as US emissions go, when they get here do i have to take them to a specialty shop? get parts changed? or are they already US Emission compliant? I know in FL there's no emission requisites for cars as far as i know and i will be bringing them through MIAMI.

I really appreciate all the help and advice i can get,

    Thanks in Advance!!!

How can you state your margin will be higher if you haven't determined what the federalization process will cost?

very expensive to do. once you do all the necessary paperwork, emissions, safety certification it isn't usually worth it. Typically it is made easier with help from FNA, but they will have no interest in helping you for good reason. Show and Display importation of limited production stuff makes it a little easier. Check out NHTSA for details. This only applies to VERY limited production stuff. Also look into cars that are over 25 years old. there is much less restriction on what can be imported once the cars are that old. Don't forget all of the shipping and insurance costs as well. call a registered importer for some guidance.

You'll be looking at front and rear bumpers (for side markers) Headlamps and taillamps, glass for the door mirrors, deletion of fog lamp, exhaust manifolds engine ecu's and adding a complete air injection system, the fuel lines evap system and purge canister arrangment are also different. I turned a Federal into a Euro-spec. and it was a pain in the a**.
