Is anyone heading down? and what do we think will be the star of the show? I should be there sometime during the run!
that fugly huge Maybach beast will no doubt be the star of the show for the un-informed masses... Personally, im looking forward to getting up close and personal with the new impreza range....
If I were going the Superamerica would be getting my attention. didn't you tell me you thought they looked ugly? What they've done under the skin is great (e.g. 2.5L in WRX and STi) but I need to get used to that nose.
i'll be there opening day, as mike said the excelero will be the star, im not too interested though, but i think the gallardo spyder will be there, and i'll definitely be checking out the ferrari display. Holden also usually unveils some sort of concept car.
i didnt mean what replied to come across a positive. More of a neutral tone. I like what they have done, just want to see it in person. And see if can snag a ltd edition from Japam if they make one.... Heres Hoping....
I expect the Exlero will be a crowd puller too! So what date is the Shannons auction, I might do the motor show on the day of the auction as it sounds like a good one!!
The Exelero may be fugly, but damn is it tough! I will be at Sydney, it's a yearly pilgrimage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sunday October 23, 2.30PM *EDIT Auction details: http://www.shannons.com.au/shannons/shannons.nsf/ShannonsAuctions/Current Lot A - 4x ferrari's, no reserve !
I think that Maybach beast is another POS, along the line with those other stupidly high horsepower machines that seem to orignate mainly from Germany.... Things along the lines of the Brabus Mercs etc... (even the new Bugatti).... I know its a concept car that wont go into production (yet), but still, another german penis size enhancing machine...(only this one goes nowhere near your wang) I am also interested in some new company cars, as the leases of my ones are up end of this year. Looking at the new 3 series sh1tbox Beemers maybe... BUT, i will be really excited if the new Audi RS4 is there... Now that could be a very dangerous thing to look at, dangerous to the cheque book...
hey, can you help me here. Last grand prix, some of us in the tattrsalls tent, took cars for a run around the track. Up the back were the LM, the 4.2 massa, and the 2 lambo's (yellow and black). Now I have to tell you, that the massa was way faster than the 2 lambo's. Way faster down the straight, especially in acceleration from 100k up. Leave the LM out of the equation, because I was last and had to back off, or go over the top of all of them, what's with the NO-GRUNT of the lambo's, from 100 K up. Talked to Lance Dixon guys yesterday who drove the massa, and they agree, they couldn't believe the NO-GRUNT of the lambo's. Can somebody tell me what is going on with the lambos and the lack of torque up top. regards..gil
haha well i dunno what to say but i've been in a Lambo accelerating pretty heftily from 300kph, and a rolling start from about 270 it seemed to leave scud's Ferrari for dead. of course the porker kills them all but hey....
Mass,Lambo,CS... Bah... Give me a Dirt road, and my (ex) 22b could eat you all... I read in Motor Mag a while back, that the new breed of lambo are missing the pure power of the older Diablo's. And the new Gallardo, is a decent match for a DB9, which is a problem for the lambo IMO... Too me, lambo means pure power. Not power is in luxury Aston Martin kind of way...
wtf ??? who in their right mind would take a Fazz or Lambo onto a dirt road ffs it's hard enough to get them to come out and play in the wet !! wrx's remind me of those people that go out and build their own pc and use all the hotted up bits ....they're "ok" but I'd prefer a Cray anyday than a toy
I was meaning more in the area 100k up to 220k. The massa killed them both. Maybe the lambo drivers were not really having a go. But they looked to me like they were into it.
The Real point was that different cars have their strengths in different areas. FWIW, not ONE car ive owned or own has got any type of aftermarket item on it. Except for that R34 GTR, but that lasted 2 weeks. SO that dosnt count... Im a stock fan.
hey you'll love this. The grand prix office has just asked me for any footage I have of the LM in action because they're thinking of having a 3 car shoot off between............wait for it..........................a 430 challenge (which will be here by april next year i believe), my LM and schui in his F1. I guess a handicap sought of thing. I think I'd get Noske to drive the LM, if this takes place. I really don't know about me versus a 430 challenge and schuii and I'm thinking cold day...slicks etc. etc. This is only talk at the moment so nobody get tOO excited.
that is almost impossible for anyone to say about any car .... unless the dealer's service all the cars and use the OEM we all have aftermarket stuff in our cars, it's the nature of the industry. Brake pads ?? oils ?? tyres ?? enthusiasts will always try something new to improve the car which wasn't on it originally and that is by definition aftermarket
This only talk at the moment, lots of these sort of thngs start as talk and half come true. However, it would be a real buzz to be involved in something like that. I can't really consider myself, as driving the LM under those conditions. As I'm not experienced enough to even consider being on the same track as schui or anyone like him. Noske has total control over the LM, and he's really good in it. And I'm sure the driver of the 430 challenge will be a professional guy as well. Insurance for schui for a one lap shootout is $30000. Maybe they'd get $30 for me.
Oh ok.......geez Gil....you drive a hard bargain, but I'll do it. I just hope Schu doesn't get too embarrassed
THe two drivers of those two cars were thinking of buying them. it was there test drive.it happens all the time. I spoke to a italian bloke at the GP who was with the LM. he said the LM had to go last to keep an eye on them. if it was the other way round they would not keep up!!!
