Will 8" & 10" wide, 16"T/R wheels work on a 78' Dino GT/4? Are they the same as the 16" 308 QV wheels? These are the lug type and not the knock off type......Anyone?

    Thanks

    Kurt

They will bolt up, but I believe the offset is diffrent; you may have to use spacers. The potential problem area would be the rear tire itself rubbing against the springs. We have to use spacers on the 360 Modena wheels to fit a 308. I believe you will have the same problem with the TR wheel.

I've read of many folks using spacers on differn't applications. Wouldn't the tires rub on the wheel well if you space them out? I'll have to look back on some threads and see how wide the 16" QV wheels are. I thought they were 8"&10". Maybe not. The offset is probably differn't though. I'm supprised there isn't a chart of some sort showing the differn't offsets and widths of wheels for the differn't models. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated. The research continues!

Your 308GT4 chassis uses roughly the same offsets as the 308QV numbers here:

    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8361

The numbers from my 5-lug TR wheels are here:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/302749.html

16" 308QV wheels are 7" and 8" wide and have very modest "+" offsets compared to the TR wheels so you'll need rather large (thick) adapters -- and the overall width is still a problem. From what I've seen, without going to the smaller spring/shock, the amount of rear tire that must be pushed outwards is unacceptable, and, even with the smaller rear spring/shock, the outboard tire sidewall position has to move out some. At the front, I think you'd have to push the 8" out some too, but even if not, it could feel a little heavier steering-wise (although 4 front TR wheels would get you around the problems at the rear).

Unless you're getting the TR wheels for free, you'd be $ ahead getting a set of the 16" 308QV Aluminum reproductions -- JMO.

PS If you do take on the project, I do believe you'll have the only 308GT4 on FChat with TR wheels ;)
