The tach has stopped working properly. It registers very low RPM no matter how high the engine is wound up in any gear. My local guy has checked th flywheel sensor and says that is not the problem, that it is the tach in the dash itself needing replacement. Does this sound right or are there other possible causes? IF I need a new tach, any suggestions on where best to find one other than from a dealer?

If you know for SURE it is the tach (I wouldn't be so quick to jump to that conclusion though) you can send it to Palo Alto Speedometer to have it rebuilt I believe.

Thanks, will have my guy check it out again. Other than the tach itself, do you have other elements that should be checked?
