Hi everyone. Weird title perhaps, but the lighting in my tachometer stopped working for months. I was going to have it shipped to a specialist when I did my last major service, but ultimately decided I would rather have the car back so I could drive it.

Two days ago it started working again. Nothing changed other than perhaps the fact that it’s getting warmer.

Anyone see anything like this before?

The tach on my 458 would only illuminate at night. Probably a different issue though.

Right. Mine stopped working at all. Then magically it started working again.

Just wondering if these are electrical gremlins or some other issue..

I think that tach is basically the same unit on most Ferraris for at least nine years. If this was common then it will be interesting to see how many reply. Maybe post in the general form.

Did you test at night with the lights on? I know it sounds silly, but these tachs have VERY strange lighting. (especially the yellow ones)
When I first bought my car, I thought there was something wrong with the lighting too! I realized that during certain lighting situations, possibly dusk with lights on, it looks completely dark. Or maybe during daylight without lights....I'm not sure of the combo, but I know that they looked burnt out sometimes. The key is to look at it at night with the headlights on. If the Tach is completely dark, and the dimmer is turned up (using the left side display menu), then you DEFINITELY have an issue.

Yes, it was pitch black. But now it’s back to normal.

I’ll just assume it’s a non-issue unless it creeps back up again. Thanks!
