A few of you might be aware of, or remember our previous 488 Novitec build. That was one of the most awesome cars we have built and experienced. While it was a blast, we knew the spider was around the corner, so it found a new home with one of our good clients. We love to keep things moving here at TAG and keep you all up with fresh content, latest product updates, and fresh ideas for you all. After the 488 coupe, we entered into our 2017 R8 V10+, and then into our McLaren 570S…. And now, back to what we love the most…. The Ferrari world…..

In the summer of 2016, we went ahead and did European Delivery on our 2017 R8 V10+ and one of our stops we knew was going to be the Ferrari Factory for an Atelier appointment to spec our Spider. That was quite the experience. With quite a few options selected, and a very unique build in order, we were ready and eager for the vehicle to arrive.

Fast forward to January 2017 - Our good friends and dealer, Ferrari of Newport Beach gave us a call to inform us that we had to make a choice. Ferrari had changed Modus (their ordering system) and all Atelier and Tailor Made Cars were delayed indefinitely. We had to make a choice, A) Wait it out or B) change the spec to something a bit more normal. After quite a bit of time on the configurator, we went ahead with a somewhat “Standard” order an no Extra Campanario options. And to be honest, it came out amazing.

The car was spec’d in Rosso Scuderia exterior with just the right amount of carbon bits on the exterior and interior to tie it all in. On the inside we went with the Carbon Goldrake Seat with Red Alcantara center and Red Leather Accents. The end result was just stunning. Here is the complete list of options

    -Rosso Scuderia Exterior
    -Nero Interior
    -Nero Carpets
-Horse Stitched in Headrest in Rosso
    -Rosso Seatbelts
    -Goldrake Racing Seats
    -Red Alcantara on Seats
    -Red Stitching
    -Premium HiFi System
    -Apple CarPlay
    -Rosso Scuderia Brake Calipers
    -Suspension Lifter
    -Scuderia Shields
    -AFS System
    -Red Rev Counter
    -Sports Exhaust System (Black Tips)
    -Front & Rear Parking Sensors
    -Colored Carpets with Logo
    -Carbon Fiber Driving Zone
    -Carbon Fiber Center Bridge
    -Carbon Fiber Dash Inserts
    -Parking Camera
    -Carbon Fiber Side Air Intake
    -Carbon Fiber Rear Air Ducts
-Carbon Fiber Outer B Post Trim
    -Carbon Fiber Rear Diffusor
    -Titanium Wheel Lug Bolts

Being that we went a little extreme on our 488 coupe, for our second go around, we wanted something that would appeal more to the masses, and enjoy the car. Nothing too crazy (the whole office chuckles). With that in mind, the theme of this build was “CLEAN and ENJOYABLE”

We started with HRE P207 wheels finished in Satin Black. These have been some of our favorites this year from HRE. We went with a 20x9 and 21x13 fitment and installed the OEM Red Ferrari caps with an adaptor. Pirelli P-Zero (PZ4) was our tire of choice. We loved our last 488 lowered, and this was no different. We installed the tried and true Novitec Springs to adjust the altitude to our liking. Why not more Novitec? It works flawlessly with the factory Noselift and rides fantastic.

We had to install our favorite Novitec Exhaust System. The Non-Valved system gives the exhaust a more aggressive and higher pitched sound that we wanted. Having the roof down, and that exhaust system just sounds amazing. Tons of extra burbles and pops, and also an added turbo whine when coming back down to idle. We finished off the performance upgrades with the Novitec N-Tronic ECU Upgrade. This was a plug & play unit that gave us 756 HP when flipped into RACE Mode. Gave the Twin Turbo V8 a very nice bump without making the car un-drivable or unreliable.

To add final touches, we installed SOUND front skid plates, then we had the entire front end wrapped in XPEL Clear Bra.
Now we are back in the 488, enjoying round 2 with this amazing vehicle. But the ability to make the roof be gone, just adds another level of experience than we had before.
We have a few more goodies in store for the car to give it some more character such as a few Novitec Aero Pieces and small accents to finish it off….

They are quite nice. I will post up more photos/info on that. :) They are 2-piece skid plate that goes under the car. Fits really nice and is thick enough for you to beat up if needed.
