As will be moving back to Fl in approx. 6-8mo have chosen not to renew my Co. plates this mo. Why spend 600.00 while the car is in storage for the Winter. How much are plates in Fl. as will be transporting my 03 Modena? Are you assessed on the value of the car as we are in Co.? Thanks!

I live here and not even for sure...I think though you will pay a vehicle registration fee to bring car into state of $225, then pay a title fee of $83, then a registration tax based on weight of car. The tax percentage may vary by county. Ballparking it, I'd say about 1% per pound. 3000lb car $30. Hope that helps! David

The tag renewal rates and title fees all just went up drastically here in FL. The title is going to be around $250-300, and your tag renewals should be in the range of around $75-80 per year. We don't have the value system on our car registrations yet, but it's only a matter of time in my opinion. The rates were raised because they were low compared to almost every other state, so we need them to go up!

Thanks for info. Certainly much better than getting ripped off yearly in Co. esp only drive less than 1/2 the year. Looking forward to the move!

Registration is not based on value. Fees increase with weight. I have not renewed my plates recently so I dont know current cost.
