Since I have heard of taillight lenses getting melted from the heat of reverse light bulb, I checked mine to order LED replacements.

I was surprised to find one of them had the inner part isolating the reverse light from the running light was loose due to the posts breaking where it screws into the main housing.

The lens itself had not melted/warped and my car only has 9000 miles so I was surprised.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Common problem apparently. If you look at the bulb carrier it puts the bulb very close to the lens and the heat causes cracking. Another poor Ferrari design. I have replaced my tail lights and reversing lights with LEDs and am awaiting Stefs kit for the turn signal bulbs and flasher relay.

Was this as easy as removing the bulb and replacing it with LED? I read all the posts using the kit from Scuding.com and while they look nice they are pricey, so would be great if just replacing the bulb is all I need to do.

Yes. Here's a link to the LED reverse light bulbs that I just ordered and were recommended by Stef before he designed his own kit (which includes his own custom LED bulbs).

2 x 1156 White 7 5W Ultra Bright High Power LED Fog Light | eBay

I also bit the bullet and ordered eight red LED bulbs to replace the parking/brake/turn lights for a US 360 which are the following :

2 x 1157 Red 7 5W Ultra Bright High Power LED Tail Brake Signal Light | eBay

    Total cost was around $194.

A new OEM Ferrari taillight is $200+.

By the way, has anyone ever separated the taillight lens from the housing?

If so, do you have any tips?

I want to attempt a repair, but it would be easier with the lens removed.

    Awesome and thanks!

Presumably I can use the same lights for the F430?

Mortgagerockstar, can you post up when you receive the bulbs and verify fitment and appearance.

    Thanks.

Contact Glen at AMH parts. He just helped me obtain a set of inner tail lamps for much less than 200 per.

What did you do to stop the hyper flashing?

Pretty much except that I believe the F430 may use 1157 bulbs all around so you would need that version of the white LED bulb for the reverse lights.

Check all your bulbs before ordering to see if they are single (1156) or dual circuit (1157).

Sure, but it may be a bit since the bulbs are coming from Hong Kong.

I have not received the bulbs and installed them yet so I'm not sure if they're will be hyper flashing issues or not. If there are, I likely will go the route of a load resistor unless Stef sells his relay for a reasonable price.

There has been some talk about being able to buy it by itself on this forum, but has anyone actually bought Stef's relay for LEDs all around separately?

Stef conveyed he is going to offer a kit that will include the flasher at a lower price. Reach out to him for more details.

Thanks. I'll reach out to Stef if a flasher is needed.

I was under the impression it was not when upgrading just the rear lights, but I may be mistaken.

Stef is going to offer a kit that includes the relay and the LED bulbs for front and rear. Not sure on the price but I think the relay itself is around $170 and the bulbs he uses are about $55 a pair.
