Funny but I don't like one single example there. Some of the interiors look more like a cartoon or a gag. Check out the Nikki Lauda interior. Are they really going to install diamond plates in the floor and screwed on aluminum panels in the doors? Weird.

But, I think the freedom to create whatever you want in a factory spec car is fantastic -- if your pocketbook can stand being that much lighter! :)

curious you say that...the examples there each seem kind of "down the block in new jersey, cousin jesse's kustoms and audio shop!" :)

I would like the original CS stripe on the 458 spider, in almost any color. Then, I'd carry some of the red and green (tastefully somehow) into the interior in the racing seats.

That I think would be really cool. And, at least now, you can do that and still have it be factory original.

Wouldn't it be ironic if that car crashed............and burned?

    Sorry, couldn't help it.

crazy looking but also crazy smart for ferrari's bottom line. sort of like having versace or dolce/gabbana taking over design from armani. still lots of fun to play with though.

Seeing the prices Ferrari charges for their normal options, I would shudder to think how much one could spend on a tailor made version. Probably an extra $200,000 without too much difficulty.

I personally love it, but I'm a guy whose into a nice suit as much as a car. I'm not so sure though about the spoke wheels shown on that California. I think a properly specced car will look so much richer (not in the dollar sense) than a standard 458 if side by side. But as it has been brought up before, anything too crazy and you better plan on keeping the car for the rest of your life or face very bad resale value.

Hey, Rolls Royce has been doing it forever!

Can't say I like the examples shown in 'Tailor made' though. Ferrari could have shown better examples. Extreme body styling would be more apropos....look at Lamborghini, they think 'out-of-the-box'! Ferrari designs in the past few years have become rather bland, unexciting and generic

I think that's why many Ferrari owners have switched over.

P.S. I've been a Ferrari owner for many years.

Upon first inspection, I did not much care for any of the examples they showed, especially for the interiors. Too many non-flowing designs and odd and random, vivid colours in strange places. Oh well, each to his own I guess.

Thinking outside the box is not always a good thing - see post #14 above.

I was looking for a similar picture of a green California with wire wheels (background at 458 Spider presentation) as further proof that someone like Lapo Elkann, with his taste for camouflaged 458's, should be kept far away from Pinifarina's design of future Ferraris - let alone replace LdM when he retires.

So will the tailor made program allow someone in the US to get Daytona racing seats?

The P4 458 exterion example with the 312 458 examples interior I think would be awesome.
