Went for a drive today so I took a couple with my cell phone. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Purchased nearly 3 months ago and driving all over the place (Maryland). The original owner painted the wheel triangles flat black, also have sales brochure where he colored the wheels in to see how it would look! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those wheels actually look kind of cool. They remind me of the "soccer-ball" wheels on my dad's 1973 Saab. Are you going to leave them? Fine looking 328 either way! You don't see so many blue ones, and I think yours is stunning.
Yes, they have grown on me. I will leave them as is for now. Gets a conversation going with other 308/328 owners, that's for sure.
Just in case someone would like one. There is one for sale here in quebec. Looks good and cheap. http://wwwa.autohebdo.net/a/Ferrari/328/SAINT-AUGUSTIN-DE-DESMAURES/Québec/19_5484470_/?showcpo=ShowCPO
Nice shot! That's what this thread is supposed to be. Most of the people posting here are just posting pics of 308's and 328's, but the thread is called "your BEST photo".
Push that mini out of the way, put the 308 just past the bushes and change your angle a smidge to get the walkway and front garden & house & that would be a killer shot
My 79 308GTS (Azzuro Chiarro) bought in May 1979 and sold in 1982 !! I believe s/n was 28003 (?), anyone here owns it ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now that's cool shot! What an awesome period picture!!! Thanks, that's what I call a significant addition to this thread.
Because I think it can be done in a way that will preserve the integrity, sound and character of the carbies....and maybe even the look of them...while adding the obvious benefits of electronic injection.
Easier to maintain? Less adjustment? Just curious; my own car is injected and I haven't had any problems. At the same time, I haven't heard that the carbureted cars are more troublesome. It just seems like a lot of work, and I wasn't aware that FI has obvious benefits over carburetion. Not criticizing, just curious regarding the benefits of doing this.
Ok...easier starting, better fuel economy, more torque, more power, smoother power delivery. If I couldn't do it and keep the inlet sound, I wouldn't contemplate it. I did it years ago with a carby BB512 by installing electronic injectors below each carby (can't do that on a 308, sadly) It looked and sounded totally stock...but my GOD what a difference. IMO, carbies are not troublesome at all...set and forget has been my experience, but they are full of compromises. I like my car to run quite lean on light load because I've seen the excessive wear caused by overfueling, I'm not talking TOO lean, I'm talking the right amount of lean...like an injected car would do.....but when you achieve that you will have flat spots. That's a fact too. Full throttle, perfect mixture. My car's a/f mixture is exactly where I want it on full/heavy throttle and cruise, but everywhere else is a compromise, and that sort of bugs me....Not to the extent that I'd do it if the car lost the beautiful noises it makes, however. Sadly, the reality is that these cars have to run rich to drive smoothly (on carbies), and that washes the oil off the bores and uses excessive fuel. Plus....I like doing that stuff
