I'll admit that the GTB is difficult to ingress and egress...I've had my car since 1985 and am 5'11" and was 245 lbs. There is a definite technique to getting in and one for getting out...I am now 88 years old and still drive the car (although it takes me about 10 secs to get in and about 3-4 times longer to get out. If you are still interested in a coupe here are the steps I use.

    Getting in:
    1) Sit on the door sill an lay into the car and use the wheel to push against as you slide yourself up against the hand brake
    2) Lift your right leg and slide it under the steering wheel and push your foot under the brake peddle and on to the accelerator
    3) Lift you left leg and swing it over the sill then straighten it to reach the clutch
    4) Put on seat belt and close the door.
NOTE: the seat is reclined and back as far as it will go

    Getting out:
    1) Release seat belt
    2) Open door and lift your left leg up and back around the steering wheel
    3) Lift your left leg out of the car (I use my hands under my thigh for more boost)
    4) Turning your body to the left, push back on the seat and slide you right leg under the steering wheel
    5) Once past the wheel, turn facing outward, place your left hand on the sill and your right hand on the open door
    6) Push upward with your arms until you are upright (the number of tries goes up as you age...3 for me)
NOTE: To avoid embarrassment I gas only when no one can see me trying to get out (I've had to virtually fall out at times)

Like I said, I'm 88 with a bad hip and I still find a way to get in the car so that she and I can take a nice drive through the twisties.
The car is that fun to drive (at least to me).

If I may add: I'm short enough that I have to drive with the seat forward quite a bit. To get out, I first push the seat back to the limit of its' rails. Then when I am ready to get back in, it's just a little bit easier. And I draw the seat back forward until it is comfortable for me to drive.

Getting in and out is not a problem it’s when I’m in the seat I can’t fit without bending my neck. I’m 6’3 275 lbs and unfortunately I love small cars particularly Italian ones. It’s funny some small cars that you wouldn’t think a guy my size could fit in I do without a problem and others even bigger cars are tight for me. Like I said maybe I will shrink as I get older!
John I have to say that is fantastic that at the age of 88 you are enjoying your 308 and doing it comfortably. My Dad is staying with me currently for vacation and he is 85 and is like you age does not slow him down. Eighty is the new fifty!

6'3" at 275 is kind of a deal breaker, RagTop1. You should be commended for trying...When you get to your 70s you will definitely be closer to 6' (bent knees, slouch, bad posture etc) and can probably make the cut to become a coupe owner. I just got through dropping 32 lbs and hope to get down to 195-200lbs max. That ought to buy me a couple of more years of driving analog and 5-speed (although I will have to keep working on my leg strength (40lb clutch peddle and non-assisted brakes) and arm strength to turn the beast. It is my gym-on-wheels...

Now. I am biased having a '80 308GTBi and prefer the slimmer looking front end and the fat Michelin XWX 205/70 x 14 Campagnolo wheels. But this is quibbling, as the 328 makes me a bit envious of the beefier engine. I do like the 308 interior better although it does set you back in time (328 interior is more modern and not so busy)...Again, both are winners and make their owners smile a lot!

By the way, the brake fluid sensor does not seem to appreciate the autocross and skid pad action too much !

Not so bad in the UK! About 10 minutes beforehand I’d managed to bottom it at about *0 mph -arrow straight road downhill and up the other side. The dip in the middle…
